American culture behind school is so weird to me.
I don't know where anyone I work with went to school, it would be so weird to bring it up in any way.
when school is over it's over. there just not that much difference between the schools.
to claim it as a class signifier.
Not true, the same even applies for Canada as well.
If you're interviewing someone who went to U of T Rotman or UBC or Smith at Queens University even McGill you're going to have different expectations for sure.
I mean, it could be different depending what field of work you're in, but a lot of the finance shops I know in Canada (Toronto, BC and Montreal) all move that way.
