Mavs' level up came after losing a key player too. I say that not to suggest they benefited from losing THJ, but as another reason their rise in the standings is impressive.

Lot of it was probably luka getting back into shape

Maybe he just needed rest after a busy off season. Him getting hurt and missing all those games perhaps helped with that idk
