The only thing you couldn’t do on public transport easily is go to Yonkers and Yonkers is not an essential part of a day trip…

having a car in NY is a horrible idea generally, I get that there’s parts of north Bronx that are basically Westchester but nah it ain’t worth it.

Was just an example of how you can go multiple places spontaneously, try doing that on public trans. You gotta really plan your day out. Car you can just go on a whim. Plans change? Just bust a u-turn. Having a car in NY, if you have a place to park it like I said is never gonna be an inconvenience. If you have an alt with no garage or whatever and its just side street parking or you live in the city and generally stay in the city and dont venture out much to the other boroughs then I get it.

Beginning with Monday's game against the Raptors, the Sixers plan to fine Simmons for every game -- both preseason and regular season -- that he is away from the team. For each game missed, Philadelphia will deduct roughly $360,000 from that $8.25 million placed in escrow.

The fine falls under the agreement spelled out between the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association in the Health and Safety Protocols, where a player who is unable to play due to "reasonable cause" will have his compensation for this season reduced by 1/91.6th (about 1.09%) of the player's base compensation for each game he misses.

In the event Simmons skips all four of the 76ers' preseason games, Simmons will lose roughly $1.4 million in fines. If he's traded, for example, on Nov. 19 -- a month into the regular season -- he will lose roughly $7.2 million in salary.

This is not money Simmons can get back in the event Philadelphia eventually accedes to his wish to be traded. The team that chooses to trade for him cannot agree to pay Simmons the money he is owed in fines from Philadelphia. Instead, Simmons would only be able to get some, or all, of the fine money back by coming to a settlement with the 76ers, who would have no incentive to do so.

If you do more than just hang out in Manhattan then having a car does help. I definitely ain't trying to take the train all over BK and I'll hit up several spots in a single day all over the city in general.

Now with that being said, all these outdoor dining additions and citibikes have made parking even tougher than it already was. I hate citibikes with a passion

Getting fined $360k for a preseason game would be extremely difficult for me to accept
Not if your worth millions, multi multi multi millions. It could be a drop in the water to him. Still a stupid stance, but I guess he's trying to prove a point. *kanye shrug*

Took an electric skateboard to work when I was living in DC. Was a quick 10 min ride going through the national mall and Pennsylvania ave

more than ok in my book sir, got me from fruitvale to embarcadero mon-fri no complaints and feelin a way that i could never have gotten behind the wheel of a car.

you right though that price AINT right

Bart does tax with those fare. I used to skip the fare when taking Bart all the time when I was younger and figured I would just act like a dumb confused tourist visiting from LA if I ever got caught. Thankfully I never got caught though lol . I wouldn’t do it now though.
