Rumor: Modern Warfare 3 will host 32-player matches, new Bomb mode
callofdutyxpleak.jpg

SFX-360 spotted a YouTube video supposedly posted by someone who snuck into the Call of Duty XP setup on Los Angeles' west side and got a glance at some of the menus for the multiplayer mode. Most intriguing: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 might offer 32-player matches, which would be on a larger scale than the series has yet offered. 13 map names were also listed on the video, and in addition to the standard Team Deathmatch gameplay, there was also a mode simply called "Bomb." Its mechanics are yet unknown.

The good news is that we'll know for sure how legit this all is by Friday – that's when Call of Duty XP officially opens up to those who bought the $150 tickets for the show. Didn't get yours? Don't worry – they're still on sale right now. And even if you can't make it, we'll be there in attendance all weekend long to see what Activision has planned.

Hideki Kamiya Hints at Bayonetta 2 Reveal
Feature-Bayonetta-2.jpg

It looks like SEGA and Platinum Games may have a big announcement slated that is sure to satisfy fans of the hardcore action genre. The leather clad dominatrix Bayonetta, star of her own critically acclaimed hack ‘n’ slash game, may be set to make her triumphant return to the gaming scene. Director Hideki Kamiya has shared some details that imply that an announcement may be coming rather soon.

Responding to a fans question on twitter, as to when a Bayonetta sequel may be announced, as translated by Adriasang, Kamiya replied:

This week… in a game magazine.

Kamiya didn’t state whether or not he was being serious, or just joking around, but with the Tokyo Game Show set to take place very soon the timing seems to be right. Last October, Platinum co-founder Atsushi Inaba said that it was too soon to think about a Bayonetta sequel, but that his studio would definitely consider it when the time was right. Maybe that time is now, keep your fingers crossed.

DICE Addresses Concerns Regarding Console Versions of Battlefield 3
feature-Battlefield3-Combat.jpg

Battlefield 3 has consistently been the most talked game for the past few months, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t concerns. Most of the footage shown so far has been from the PC version, a fact that is beginning to make console fans weary. However, a producer at DICE thinks they shouldn’t worry.

Executive Producer Patrick Bach recently answered some of many questions people have regarding BF3, one of which shared some of the anxiety surrounding console versions of the first-person shooter title. Patrick told VG247:

We are showing more and more console, and the reason for that is that we want to show people that there is a console version

He added:

We want to show off the console version, and people shouldn’t be too worried about it.

So the talented group of developers over at DICE are perfectly aware of BF3‘s lack of console presence lately. PCs are capable of providing substantially better visuals, so it makes sense that the game is being advertised in the most gorgeous way possible: with a PC. Even then, those of you out there who don’t want to just run out and buy it blindly (Call of Duty syndrome, anyone?) and end up with a muddy port should be able to see the game on the platform you’re most interested in. Thankfully, Patrick’s statements share a desire to show the console versions more prominently leading up to release.

We recently had a chance to play Battlefield 3 at PAX for ourselves, and you can read all about it in the hands on article.
