So I'm looking to buy a new desktop (I sorta like desktops better, weird maybe).
Questions:
- Are nettops good? I like it because it doesn't take up a lot of space.
- Are e-machines that bad?
- Are there any that I can spend ~350, preferrably less, that are good?
Honestly, I don't do much but surf the web and simple stuff. Not a gamer.
oh god, kill yourself before you buy a prebuilt computer
if you want a small desktop computer you can just build one, i could build you a cheap small dual core build for under 350
In this little guy (15x10x
it is longer than the dell but its still really small...
My total: 387.61 with 20$ of MIR (so 367.61 which is right around your budget)
Dells Computer total: 407.29
My build VS Cruddy Dell
My 2.8ghz Dual Core vs Dell's 1.8ghz Dual Core (The biggest up over the dell)
My 2GB Ram vs Dell's 2GB Ram
My 7.1 audio vs dells 2.1 audio
250gb Hard drive vs 250gb Hard drive
hd3000 graphics vs hd3000 graphics
although the specs are technically about the same... the extra ghz on each core of the processor will be leaps better, plus building your own PC (im choosing all top quality parts there, if you choose to go for slightly less quality parts but still leaps and bounds ahead of Dell, the build would probably be another 30-40$ off) will last you a lot longer than a crappy prebuilt dell. the parts of the dell are complete doodoo and components get really hot in that cramped lil case
in both computers youll probably have some problems playing 1080p video though, you could tack on 30$ to my price to get perfect silky smooth 1080p playback and quite good low end gaming performance as well or add 75$ to the dell price to get slightly better 1080p playback (youll probably still see skips/etc.)
ill do anything to persuade you away from buying a prebuilt computer
