The Official Tennis Thread (Vol. 2024 US Open)

Been busy AF, so haven't been able to watch a lot of matches... left with highlights.

Did catch the end of this Milos/Muzz match and man, what a shame for Milos.  Damn injuries again... but he's improved so much... his returning... his volleys... his groundstroke selection.  I've been pretty impressed.  Hope he's able to keep it up.

Anyway, randoms...

Who is that raonic groupy?
His girl bad, Danielle Knudson. Guess model. Bieber showed her Instagram love in like '14.

I'll bless the thread with pics later.

Abductor muscle in his right leg during the third set. Raonic's volleying was sucio against Stanimal.

I feel asleep after the third set. Tough luck for Raonic. He'll have another chance at a Slam for sure...

How perfect would it be for Steffi to be in attendance for the women's final? Too bad it won't be happening.

Serena is going to have to play really well to get this W given her opponent and her nerves in big moments.

I would actually prefer that she play Sharapova because she plays really well in those matches. Kerber presents problems in that she has exceptional defense and she'll get a decent amount of shots back. If Serena is tight in anyway, that style can give her problems.

I was watching espn2 and they were discussing how people still get shocked when serena loses. I don't get shocked but it's just usually surprising who she loses to. Also not shocked if she loses since it does happen once in a while, at least one major a year since she's never had the grand slam.

Has Serena not played a lefty in a while? It certainly felt that way watching the first set.

Looks like she's finally starting to get use to the lefty tendencies now in the second.

Serena practically gave Kerber the first set and still lost only 6-4. She needs to just calm her nerves and play the tennis we're accustomed to

Wake up to see Serena struggling in a Grand Slam final against a relative unknown yet again.
