Are you serious? It's hard to find a game releasing this generation that doesn't suffer from this. Destiny, The Division, The Order, Rainbow Six, ect, ect. Why is this one singled out?So because No Man's Sky isn't what people expected, it's trash?
I don't understand this mentality in people that a game either has to be 10/10 or it's "horrible".
By most accounts NMS is engrossing for at least a good chunk of hours.
If you got burned, it's not their fault. Stop pre-ordering games. It's simple.
The negativity the game is receiving is because some of the features that they said would be in the game were not.
How is it not their fault for lying?
Deliver with what you said you were = Happy customer. It's that simple.
Because people don't understand how to manage their own expectations. And when something arrives that they built up in their minds to be greater than it is, they blame anyone but themselves. All of these "features" that were cut weren't there on release. The developers themselves said they are treating it as a platform; they will more than likely see the light of day down the road.
A small developer, who has never made a AAA game, whose last game was Joe Danger, who has been showing very little of their game through previews, whose creator was already starting to do damage control BEFORE the game dropped, and none of that seemed to raise a red flag?
It's like a six year old promised to do your taxes for you, you believed them, you're now getting audited, and now you're blaming the six year old.
Yes, developers should be held accountable for bad games. Absolutely. This isn't a bad game though. It's not the game that was expected.
