The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Man I wouldn't even want to try playing a fighting game online. Might not get a single hit in :rollin I have MvC3 to throw on when I have a few friends over and I have no idea wth I'm doing in that game :lol I just button mash and hope for the best. I can sometimes pull out a W every few games or so but I'm usually getting washed.

That is me right there I am trash at fighting games :lol

There is still noting more rewarding in all of gaming to me than being good at a competitive fighting game though

same here. Makes all those hours memorizing tekken 3 combos worth it.

Beating a human>>>>beating a boss

So is the project cars goty the best racing game out now?
Not even close.

Fighting games are but to say they are as deep as rpgs

i kno yall trolling. For honor the only fighting game i good at or better yet invested enough time to get good at.
To get good at a fighting game, you need to know the entire game's rosters' move sets and how to use said knowledge to your advantage.

If you're Tekken's Paul, I know your main weapon is the super punch.

If you're King, I'm going to keep a distance, since King's throws are ridiculous.

Also knowing how long it takes for move animations to finish.

So basically knowing what risks are involved if you use said move and he/she counters.

Fighting games are basically chess.

I don't think "deep" is the right word. They have a steeper learning curve and take more time to master but it's essentially the same thing over and over. When I hear "deep" I think about the depth that RPGs have with their huge open worlds and bunch of different characters, weapons, items, etc...

Man no way :lol. They take time yes. But nah man. You switch one character and it is a entirely new game. And don't even get me started on defense :x

This is a PS4 thread.

Fighting games need dedicated servers, p2p ruins them. The host always has the advantage. Online for me was never appealing more so a game to play when friends are over.

My go to move in fighting games is spamming the button for low kick

Once in a while I win matches by kicking my opponent's foot/shins 100x

Every once in a while you lose to a button masher. It happens. The worst tho is how they act after they win.

It doesn't matter how many times in a row you destroyed them. They get that one win and keeping talking **** even after you destroy them again

This is 100% me :rollin My boy goes to tournaments to play fighting games, and I beat him in Mortal Kombat by jumping around all over the screen and low kicking him every round. The fatality I performed at the end after just kicking his foot the entire match was the funniest and greatest @#$@ of all time to me :lol Told him to retire from his tournaments and still bring it up that win every time he goes to another one :lol

For anyone who is following this Colin Moriarty drama, he was on Rubin again and laid everything out there.

I dont really know where I fall on this opinion-wise, but I have to admit it's fascinating to watch unfold.

Well Walmart winded up cancelling my orders, and all I winded up getting out of it was a $10 gift card :lol
