I agree it isn’t bad at all. I never skip through any parts when I have come across it. Part 2 is another story though
I kinda wish Street Fighter with Van Damme was better, it was missing special effects for their special moves at the very least. I walked out disappointed for that one but happy that they made a film for it. Now that I think of it, I saw both in the theatre when new.

i actually just got one of these bad boys. If you are playing on a modern tv, I recommend it, at least for n64, I was impressed with the smoothing filter option that made text much more readable.
Also there’s a cheaper option coming out if your willing to wait. Info on their site under blog.

It should be minimal

as it's a line doubler so it takes the 240p signal and makes it 480p. I think most newer TVs can handle a 480p signal with some decent internal upscaling.If you're prepared to spend a bit more and you have the appropriate SCART, component and VGA cables there's the OSSC but it's technically more complex.
Open Source Scan Converter (OSSC)
The Open Source Scan Converter is a zero lag upscaler that can output from 480p up to 1080p. It's only shortcoming is it's not compatible with all TV's in every mode, but it's still an excellent choice. There's also a more powerful "OSSC Pro" that can scale up to 1440p, with modes for downscaling,

At a high level the OSSC can line triple, quadruple and quintuple the 240p image. So it can take a 240p signal and output it as 720p (line triple) which means little to no lag from your TV's upscaling as it's receiving a HD signal.
