When you take a closer look at Hulk's numbers with Zenit this past season, it doesn't really look like he's worth a huge transfer fee. Part of it might be that he's not very happy playing in Russia.

I wouldnt be happy either if my clubs fans were planting fake "devices" and such to scare me.

Only one problem with your statement. Hulk said he is happy to play for zenit and knowing he gets payed millions who wouldn't. the fake device story was never confirmed to be real.

...If you look at the numbers, it’s hard to believe he’s really worth the fortune Mourinho’s preparing to shell out. Across all competitions this season for Zenit, Hulk scored 11 goals and assisted 9 more in 30 matches, scoring once every 225 minutes. In addition, while playing in European competitions, arguably against much harder competition than the Russian league, he got only 3 goals in 9 appearances, one every 266 minutes.

Meanwhile, Demba Ba, already on the squad at Stamford Bridge, banged across 19 goals in 44 matches, with a far better average of a goal every 169 minutes.

Who was the last Brazilan attacking player that wasn't overrated/overpriced? They all are to some extent.

Uuuuuuhhhhhh Andre Santos!

lukaku>hulk

chelsea really need to bring in another CB and a RB first.

Honda leaving CSKA on a free transfer this Summer as far as im aware, Would be a great pick up for most European teams

The picture of happiness... He & manager Spalletti have not gotten along very well all season & there are reports the Russian players on Zenit aren't happy with the difference in wages especially given the output by Hulk.

Specifically senior players like striker Kerzhakov and middy Denisov who publically questioned his signing & the amount of money he received.

Add to that, Zenit's supporter's club published a letter demanding Zenit field an all white & non gay team. The letter was quoted as saying -

..."dark-skinned players are all but forced down Zenit's throat now, which only brings out a negative reaction" and said gay players were "unworthy of our great city."

I'd love to see Honda in the Prem or Bundesliga...

The Russian players haven't like Hulk since the day he got there, they blasted him in the media for being payed "Ronaldo & Messi" money. Hulk didn't really have a choice on where he would play tho.

If he goes to Chelsea that'd be great, I always said when he was on Porto he was built for English football. He'd do great there. But he's also not a striker, he's not a number 9. That's what Chelsea need most

& so the summer transfer window begins for The Gunners... But Fellaini?!? He's kinda lazy/lackadaisical for me & prone to stupid penalties...

The north London club have moved swiftly to activate the release clause in the Belgium international's contract and hope to wrap up a deal for the 25-year-old in the coming weeks

EXCLUSIVE

Arsenal have made a sensational £22 million bid for Marouane Fellaini, Goal can reveal.

The Gunners have activated the release clause in the Everton midfielder's contract and are confident of wrapping up a deal for the 25-year-old in the coming weeks.

Goal understands that Arsenal made the club-record bid on Wednesday, the same day that Roberto Martinez was appointed the new Everton manager.

It is believed that Fellaini's buy-out clause is £22m for a top-four club, and £24m for a club that finishes outside the Champions League places.

The Belgian has been consistently linked with Chelsea in the last 12 months and speculation of a switch to Manchester United has intensified since Dave Moyes' appointment last month.

But Arsenal have made the first formal move for the Belgian in what is the first flexing of the London club's new-found muscle in the transfer market.

The Gunners have the best part of £100millon to spend this summer in what represents the biggest transfer kitty in the club's history.

The stunning swoop for Fellaini was made on the day that Everton chairman Bill Kenwright admitted the Merseysiders were vulnerable to offers for the versatile midfielder.

Kenwright has promised new manager Martinez he will receive 100 per cent of any income from sales after the Spaniard signed a four-year deal to become Moyes' successor.

"He talked about a couple of new signings and he talked about the squad and asked 'Do they need to go?'," said Kenwright of his discussions with the 39-year-old. "I said 'No, they absolutely do not have to go' (although) there is one (Fellaini) that has a get-out, which everyone knows."

Arsenal have already made moves for Swansea City defender Ashley Williams and QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar, but their pursuit of Fellaini will send shockwaves through English football.

Arsene Wenger is a long-time admirer of the Belgian, who joined Everton from Standard Liege in 2008 for a club-record £15m.

He would bring a physical presence to the Arsenal ranks as well as a midfield versatility. Fellaini is on record as saying his favourite position is defensive midfield but he was used predominantly in an attacking role, supporting the main striker, last season.

chelsea really need to bring in another CB and a RB first.

Hulk and Kraken are 2 completely diff types of players.

We don't need a RB at all. We have Azpilicueta who will probably the 1st choice RB for the Spain NT for the next ten years

I can see him leaving, he will bring 35-40 million quid, with Rafa there...they can definitely get another great striker for that.

Didn't Hulk try to force a move in January which led him to being benched for some time? Isn't AVB still looking to sign him, especially with the possibility of Bale leaving, he'll have the money. But yea I don't think Chelsea really need him. And apparently they are going after Jovetic too.
Felliani would be a great addition to our midfield. Has that physical presence we need and also has good vision. Him, Giroud, Kos, and Per on set pieces :pimp:

-Laudrop is keen to stay but might leave Swansea after disagreements about transfer targets

-Liverpool may not reach the Champions League for TWO more years, admits Ian Ayre (at least he's being realistic)

-Stewart Robson: Arsene Wenger will waste Arsenal's £70million transfer warchest (son is salty with these comments )

-Yohan Cabaye has issued a come-and-get me plea to Manchester United and says he would be keen to work under new manager David Moyes. (interesting.....terrible season last season, but at 27, he stil has a few years left in him)

-New Manchester United manager David Moyes plans to make Uruguayan right-back Guillermo Varela his first signing at Old Trafford. The 20-year-old is available for £1.2m from Uruguayan side Penarol.

-Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is ready to move on after the 24-year-old Belgian signalled he would not sign a new deal with the club. Mignolet has been linked with a move to Liverpool and Arsenal.

-Harry Redknapp's future at QPR continues to be in doubt after the club were unmoved by his threat to walk away from Loftus Road. His plans for next season have been hit with another blow after Wayne Bridge, 32, a free agent after a season at Brighton, rejected a move and decided to sign for Reading.

-Everton have offered left-back Leighton Baines, 28, a new contract, and they remain confident that both he and Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini, 25, will stay at Goodison Park.

This is an example of how crazy/strupid transfer rumors can be... We all know Real Madrid won't hesitate spending money on transfers. Several reports suggest PSG wants anywhere from €4 million €7.5 million for Ancelotti. Those same reports are saying Real Madrid is hesitant to pay that so much so that Ancelotti is said to be willing to pay half of whatever the fee is out of his own pocket... If you really examine this, it really doesn't make any sense.

In other transfer rumblings, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis (film producer Dino De Laurentiis' nephew) said Chelsea recently inquired about striker Cavani. The transfer free is reported at €63 million...

Schalke & Dortmund are rumored to be interested in Barca's Cristian Tello.

Juventus may be also looking at Bayern Munich's Mario Gomez. I didn't realize he is only 27.

Liverpool may be looking at Man City's Tevez...

World Cup qualifiers today. Portugal v russia.

If portugal loses today or even ties they will not be going to brazil. They've been struggling to qualify for the last couple of major tourneys. Makes me sick. They better get their act together.

Forca portugal!!
