And I’m not even that picky or a booze snob. But there is most definitely a difference between, say, Popov and Grey Goose vodkas. The differences might be most pronounced with tequila. The really high end stuff I can sip straight. Cuervo Gold, not so much.

If you're just tryna get drunk there is no difference. But everything else (taste, lack of hangover effects, etc) no doubt there is.

I think that’s right. I’ve had both Costco-branded vodka and whiskey that was pretty decent. Not as good as my favorite branded stuff, but better than Popov, Evan Williams, etc.

I usually cut myself off once I’m stumbling drunk. Switch to water the rest of the night. Chug some water before bed. No hangovers. Haven’t had one in a while
