it's just mind blowing that an actual strategy in the 90s was to stick a center, who absolutely could not shoot, at the 3 point line solely so his man could not double and protect the rim. the actual rules prohibited that.

for all the talk about how MJ would average 50 in the modern day because you couldn't hand check him, you never hear about how poor team defense was in that era. sure you could hand check a guy, but if he beat you off the dribble, your center would be slow to rotate because he couldn't leave mark eaton from 3.
