Things like this always get lost. Dirk really swept KG in a series where he avg 33ppg 16rpg on 52/72/90....and people called Dirk “soft”.

Matchups with the Celts in the Finals would've been rough with no Pau, IMO.Never understood the of Kobe & Paul meshing.
You bring in Paul and Kobe can actually be Jordanhe can just gun and let someone else worry about setting the table for the others.
Would’ve been one of if not the most talented backcourt of all time. One of the biggest what ifs in history.

I didn't think Dirk could recover from the refs robbing him in 2006, the collapse vs the Warriors in 2007, getting slapped by David West in 2008 and getting his teeth kicked in by the Nuggets in 2009.

Dirk had a better career than KG and might be ranked higher.
But KG was the more talented player.

I’d call it a wash. KG was a defensive beast, but Dirk is one of the most special offensive players ever. If there’s a talent difference, it’s marginal in either direction.

Perception was flawed from the start. It balanced it, imo. People went way to far with the Dirk was soft, choker label etc. 07 was is a blenish...but he done hooped.
KG ain’t get out the first round for 7 straight years...and ppl called Dirk the soft choker...and he ran through KG
KG had some piss poor teams back in the day and while Dirk had some really talented teams and only managed 2 conference finals and 1 finals appearance prior to the title and never got out of the 1st round after that.

i think their careers in totality are about even , but Dirk is overrated to a degree on here.
