Which is one reason why he’s not on those guys level. Harden could average 36/6/10 and you would still take at least 4 guys ahead of him which is indicative of why Harden ISNT that guy, which IMO shows the genius of Morey and MDA

so I disagree with that bro.
he does not have Kawhi KD or Steph’s shooting ability from 3 or the middy. He does not have Bron’s ability as a ball player. He does not have the physical profile or a KD or LBJ. He legit isn’t as good as those guys are.
the fact that his production is on par with those guys and the rox are so successful is due to Harden being really good but really Morey and MDA gaming the system and juicing the numbers that lead to wins. It all comes out though when harden has to face the real in the offs and you see he just isn’t good enough.
and for me it’s on the margins because he’s reallyyyy damn good, I just would easily pick those guys to win me a series before JH.

Wasn't Dantoni the one that send no midrange jumpers allowed? Dantoni will get his point guard numbers, but I think that diminishes Harden's ability to say they're the reason.

I didn’t say that. I’m not putting them losing solely on him. Part of why GSW is more talented than HOU is because Steph and KD both > Harden (and CP3)
Its not his fault. He’s simply not as good as Steph, KD, Bron or Whi. That’s just what it is To me. Given that, I’m more so blaming the system that produces a ton of wins but has blind spots that aren’t the most optimal in a game 5 of a series vs an elite team

Yeah very weird. He was 35/7/6/2 and outplayed Curry for the series. Still lost in 6. Dray and Iggy were awesome. Klay was a beast in games 5 and 6. Harden being the best player on the court wasn't enough.

The reality is that Harden is really really good but you’ll always have issues with talent and filling out your roster when you’re maxing guys out to win a chip who aren’t the tier 1 guys when it matters

That’s the thing. I think it’s more the system than him. He’s on the same level as Steph to me. Steph has one ring as the guy. And it came against an injured Cavs team. As much as I’ve been defending Steph on here recently, I don’t see the justification for putting him in another tier than Harden:

They are not in the same tier. Mans dropped 30 in the 2nd half on the road in a closeout game to send the Rockets home. When the game was in the balance in game 5 last year he came through.
That matters.
And injured Cavs team or not he won a chip as the guy, beating the rockets soundly on the way there. The next year with a healthy Cavs team they went up 3-1 on them before chaos happens and you know the rest.
You might, but there's NO WAY I'd take Harden over steph in any capacity right now. I just trust Steph way more to come through and part of it is because I genuinely think Steph is the better ballplayer. Part of it is system i.e. getting Steph off the ball, etc. But Steph is legit a Better shooter than harden, in better shape, just as good of a playmaker as harden when accounting for his own screening and scoring, and I trust him more when it matters.
