WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - D&W OUT NOW - Doomsday = RDJ back

if steve is the father to those children, then shouldn't those children not exist in the current mcu timeline or else it means there are two steves, one frozen and one boning peggy

I said it before,, they shoulda just stuck wit Back to the Future rules. Doc Brown woulda fixed this up real quick!

so wait... did cap make a new branch in the timeline or not?

Russos and the writers did not communicate on the time travel theory.

Russos says alternate branch, writers says it's one timeline.

He gets points for needing to be convinced to save the world? Lol

The fact that Cap was even the first guy that ant man pitched his time Heist idea to shows who the leader of the avengers is...someone who is actually at headquarters...not retired to some cabin in the woods.
he was at the headquarters visiting bruh. it was happenstance he was there when antman was brought out of the quantum. natalya was all that was left of the avengers. everybody retired for the most part. Cap was running AA meetings in Raccoon City.

RDJ better get some sort of award or recognition for his portrayal of the most iconic character in the last 10 years in film. seriously.

Well heres the thing, the Russos bros and Markus & Mcfeely have two different takes.

I agree with the writers take on this. Follows closely to the type of time travel rules and laws in Lost which works off predestination, fixed timelines, and at its core determinism. The whatever happened happened approach to time traveling to the past and trying to change it.

So basically, Steve went to the past got with Peggy, had kids, etc. but most importantly laid low, stayed out the public eye, was never recognized by anyone to the effect that it would change history. So there were two Steves in the main MCU timeline (frozen and alive with Peggy) and at other points in time 3 and 4 of him (frozen, w/ Peggy, 1970, and the Steve returning the stones and mjlonir). It is a clear closed loop as far as time travel goes.

The thing about it is you have to understand or at least accept that Steve Rogers would always go back in time and be with Peggy, always have kids, always was never noticed to any effect that it could change history because that fact of the past can not be changed. Steve Rogers was never revealed to be alive, everyone thought he died until he was found in ice. So the Steve that went back could never be exposed. If anyone found out they'd either keep the secret or die/be incapacitated/forget and/or memory wipe so it wouldnt be a problem.

The Russos take the path of alternate timelines are created for the slightest thing on a butterfly effect level. There are no lengths you can go to in order to remain a part of the main timeline. So the second Steve didnt return back to 2023 and chose to stay with Peggy a new timeline was created where the future is unknowable and will definitely be different just by Steve's presence. Also there's the fact that frozen Steve is still on ice so that branched off timeline will have Steve who will be thawed out can do all the things the Steve we knew did but he cant time travel to the past and be with Peggy cuz that Steve will already be there.

The fun thing about this alt timeline is you can really play with changing history. Captain America around for Korean War, Vietnam, Cold War, hippy peace movement, Nixon, JFK/MLKjr/Malcolm X assassinations. That's real history so Rogers may be involved but as far as MCU history, a 60 something Rogers could save his alleged friend Howard Stark and wife, could even save Bucky if he hasnt encountered him before that. That changes a lot, maybe no Iron Man but even if some things stay the same Steve can warn Tony about Obidiah or the explosion that causes the shrapnel to go in his heart when he was being held hostage. At some point he can become director of SHIELD and preemptively deal with Loki and the Destroyer, Hydra hiding inside of SHIELD all this time, the invasion of NY/prevent Coulson's death. This alt timline would be ahead of a lot of things if Steve does it right.

Problem is Strange checked over 14 million timelines and this timeline would definitely lose and the snap would still happen and apparently for w/e reason time travel wont fix things. Who knows maybe Hank Pym or Scott Lang die much earlier or they never rescue Janet Van Dyne from the quantum realm or maybe Thanos just finds out and cuts that avenue off.

My main problem with the Russo's take is they assume or just gloss over that the device Tony made to travel through quantum realm time vortices was made to navigate precisely and only that. Not travel to alternate timelines. How the hell did Steve live a life with Peggy in an alternate timeline and then travel to the main MCU timelime no problem? Its not impossible but he'd have to get the Tony of that timeline to help him or Hank Pym or Shuri or all of them or maybe in that timeline Reed Richards is around earlier.

So yeah its up to the fans to choose which time travel rules they like best. I assume Feige will eventually clear this up directly in a movie. Cuz this next 10 years is gonna have a focus on time travel and/or he's gonna have that option be taken off the board right away so it isn't the go to answer for every hero that wants to use it when a tragedy happens.

You can arguably keep traveling back when they formed all the infinity stones and borrow it so Thor can jist bring ppl back to life. Every movie will lack stakes at the end cuz the hero will just make a pitt stop @ Hank Pym's lab and go and get or do what it takes to bring ppl back in the present or worse they could do like what happened to Gamora and bring a past version back. So ok Shuri dies on Friday, T'Challa just has to go back in time and bring Thursday Shuri to Saturday with the only con being she will have no memory of the Friday she died cuz that version hasnt experienced it.

Feige will address that at least.

Everything except for the killmonger vs tchalla final battle sequence is rewatchable. They couldn’t give the protagonist an anakin vs obi level-fight??? Mfks should’ve been jumping and round house kicking off of vibranium mines and bridges over lava

Idk how you guys see this cgi stuff. It all looks fine to me

i feel like im pretty bad with spotting bad cgi either so most are fine to be outside of the most obvious

BPs fight by the subway looked bad because they had to show their faces and with the dark/cgi background, they almost look like floating heads

I still think the suits should of came off and they go right back to tribal style. What we got was trash

Been a minute since I watched it. Were they both enhanced by the herbs during the final battle? Or were all the acrobatics and flips solely due to the suits
