WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 FINALE out now

After watching Endgame again I kinda feel like it was a missed opportunity not having Stan’s final cameo being the one who accidentally pressed the buttons and brought Ant-Man back. It would've made Stan the one responsible for saving the MCU (in a funny way) and not some random rat.

That can’t happen since he’s a watcher tho

Who is the dude in the picture with Peggy and the child when she's on her deathbed in Winter Soldier? Presumably that was originally the husband she mentioned before the retconned it in Endgame

This scene makes no sense to me now

EDIT: Wait, this Q&A says Cap created an alternate reality, so why was he able to show up and talk to Falcon as an old man? Shouldn't that be a different reality?

EDIT: "For example, the old Cap at the end movie, he lived his married life in a different universe from the main one. He had to make another jump back to the main universe at the end to give the shield to Sam."

Russos lowkey pushing it on this one for me lol

EDIT AGAIN: NEGROES IS DOING THE MOST BRUH.

Is it retconned or still just part of the original timeline and an alternate one was made after endgame?

Marvel should really just do it that everytime you tweak something in the past, that it creates an alternate timeline. And then they can just make up something after the fact on how old man Steve made it back to the main timeline from the alternate timeline that he had created.

Any other time travel rule just gets too messy.

Russos came in with the save by clarifying the ending with this rule but then the Markus and McFeely had to contradict them lol

Feige is the tie-breaker. I'm sticking with the Russo's explanation of old man Steve until Feige says otherwise lol

We discussed that already

Cap went back and established a different timeline/reality/universe

so...
MCU now officially going to use Multi-verse
so...

2030 = Secret Wars

Yea but the writers of endgame are directly contradicting this theory though lol

Multi verse makes most sense and is most interesting

What did the writers say? That it’s all one timeline?

Yea that it's all one timeline and Steve chilled in the cut with Peggy while hydra infiltrated shield, bucky killed IM's parents, and 9/11 happened -_-

We've already went over this

How are dudes still confused?

This gotta be your first time travel concept if you cant grasp the two options - albeit opposing ideas - the Russo bros and Markus & McFeely presented.

You know it's poor writing when you get two directly conflicting explanations for what happened from the writers and director

You'd think this would have been something they, you know, hashed out when they made the movie

How exactly is it poor writing though?

The writers have a clear and descriptive reasoning that accounts for that type of time travel. They explicitly define time travel and its rules. They even have an in-universe explanation for how alt timelines can be created in regards to the infinity stones. Its why Loki dipping with the tesseract is undeniably the creation of an alt timeline.

The Russo bros also happen to have a clear reasoning that accounts for that type of time travel. They just like an explanation for how old Rogers traveled back the original timeline from his alternate timeline.

The lack of hashing it out seems to be a case of story over detailed time travel rules. Something I assume neither will revisit again in the MCU given both the writing team and directors are falling back from Marvel movies. They wanted or maybe ordered to get rid of Rogers so they wrapped up his story by aging him out anf giving him his dance.

As far as how alt timelines are created in every instance they probably left it up to Feige to have the final say.

So dumb. And that doesn’t explain where the brand new shield at the end comes from. If it’s the same timeline, it theoretically shouldn’t exist
