I was telling my friends all night it was a work but if he really is retiring, man that is really terrible. Loved his style though the Spear got really old, really fast. Still a fantastic wrestler that has done so much for the company. Sad day for the business.

Damn, sucks that Edge is done,he was one of the best heels of the last decade. WWE losing its Attitude era stars quickly, and i don't see much potential outside of 3 or 4 wrestlers currently on their roster to carry the torch.

What You Didn't See on Raw
Dark match: Yoshi Tatsu def. Ted Dibiase

Superstars: Great Khali def. Zack Ryder with the tree slam
Natalya and Gail Kim def. Maryse and Melia with the sharpshooter

Reaction for Cena was mostly positive, but he did have a loud negative reaction from much of the crowd as well. Most heat was for Vicky Guerrero and Michael Cole. Orton was overhwhelmingly the top babyface.

The crowd wasn't much into R-Truth and didn't really know what to make of him, especially going from not being on the show in weeks straight into the main event.

After the show, Cena cut a promo on Edge, thanking him and asking the crowd to give him a standing ovation.

Lots of Sin Cara merchandisewas available at the merch stand, but it didn't seem to be selling too much yet. The Rock's new shirt was the most popular and sold out quickly.

I wouldn't say so.  MVP has been gone now for what, about six months or so?  Maybe even more.  I really doubt WWE had any long term plans for MVP.  His time to move into main event was years ago, and it never really happened.  We all know WWE does very little long term booking.

I think this was more of just a case where WWE knew people weren't going to be that interested in another Miz vs Cena match.  Randy Orton is already in a program with Punk.  Morrison is being punished.  So who is next in line on the Raw roster?  Probably Sheamus.  I'd like to say Daniel Bryan but I've given up there.  Ziggler was had a chance in this match so it isn't him.  So Truth is next up.  I really think Truth was put into this match for the sole purpose of taking the pin, whether it be Miz retaining or Cena winning.

I can't believe he has done this for that many years.
I don't think there is an instant need to put Edge into the Hall of Fame.  I would wait until Mania returns to Toronto (it's bound to happen within the next five years).

You think by any chance that the retirement/injury played a part as to why Edge v Del Rio went first at WM?

Yeah, you can see him reach right for his neck.  It didn't look good.

As for WrestleMania, there's certainly no debate he was hurting, but Edge didn't go for the MRI until the day after Mania, so it had no official impact on the match opening the show.

When's the next draft? Smackdown definitely needs some people, with Edge and Taker out.

There will be back to back three hour Raws in June (I believe June 6 and 13), the two weeks following the conclusion of Tough Enough.  It is almost guaranteed that one of these shows will be a draft.  Although really, how can anyone care about the draft at this point?  The draft and Bragging Rights are the only three or four weeks of the year WWE actually cares about the brand split between Raw and Smackdown.  The other 40-50 weeks of the year, guys just go as they please.  Even the most casual of fans realizes this at this point.
