☠TERMINATOR | SALVATION☠ 5/21/2009 - IN THEATERS NOW!

Not understanding how this was a bad movie.

me to.. now i may have felt different if I read the books saw the movie and felt unsatisfied. I haven't read any of the books at all. I felt like the moviesevered its purpose and was entertaining. To me it filled in some gaps and answered some question i had. I actually left wanting to see more.

Damn you guys were right it was dissapointing. I'm a huge terminator fan and Christian bale is on of my favorite actors. It just didn't feel liketerminator..also Scenes rarely flowed together..

How is it even a bad movie, it's the beginning of the end and I don't why everyone was expecting a war-zone and everything already. They did what theyneeded to do by showing how John Connor moved up and the action scenes were on point.

The second half of this movie was so great, and the ode's and attention to details from the first 2 films were on point.

Couldn't have asked for nothing more or less as a Terminator fan, I mean the flaws were there, but nothing to really be

or

over cause I wasn'texpecting greatness.

I'm sure the next one can be even better.

I liked the movie.....amount of action was just fine.

i think you guys were expecting too mcuh from this movie.......This is only the beginning of the fight against the machines...........just think what you willhave when they tie in with being sent back in time and all that stuff..........THEN you will see all the terminators fighting against the humans.

Spoiler [+]
That was crazy as hell when the CGI arnold popped up, i definately wasnt expecting that at all...........they did a great job with it too, looked just like him.

I dont think there was anything i didnt like about the movie.........Commons role in the movie was pretty whack.

I'm not a big Terminator fan like some of you... but i can see some of the complaints yall had. Overall i think it was a decent movie... Alot of action.I'd say it was better than Wolverine... I'm bout to see star trek tomorrow.

This is one of the stupidest films I've ever seen. Script was straight up garbage... like it was written by a 16 year old fanboy. It made absolutely nological sense. This film cost $200 million to make! Where the hell did all the money go? I'm gonna just list all the things that were wrong with this pieceof crap:

Spoiler [+]
- I knew from the moment I saw the opening titles that my $10 was going down the drain. Terrible title sequence. Why show the title twice? What's the point of that? They must really think the audience has severe ADD. They start with the little background on Marcus, and then they stop the film to give you a text crawl about how John Connor is the prophetic leader, then they start the film again, and then they stop it one more time to remind you (again) that McG directed this piece of crap. I've never seen something so amateurish on a big screen.
- Why was it necessary for Helena Bonham Carter's character to have cancer? The makeup at the beginning was TERRIBLE.
- OK, so the machines have taken over the world. Where the hell are they? Opening battle sequence... only 2 terminators! Only 1 Terminator in LA?!? Skynet... shouldn't the headquarters be SWARMING with robots? Not once in this film are there more than 3 terminators in one scene. That's absolutely ridiculous. Could it have hurt to throw in just a few more? Again, this is the post-apocalyptic future run by robots... where is the army of robots that did this?
- If John Connor is the leader the prophecy says he is, then why isn't he calling all the shots? Why is information being withheld from him by other officers? Where is his leadership?
- The mute kid served absolutely no purpose except to pander to the audience.
- Somehow EVERY ROBOT has access to Skynet headquarters!
laugh.gif
If you ran a company, would you give an intern access to all of your files?
indifferent.gif

- Hey, Marcus Wright! What are you doing back in Skynet headquarters? Shouldn't you be infiltrating the resistance? Oh well, come on in. Let me tell you about your past and I'll even throw in a free history lesson about how we took over the world.... and I'll do this by using visual screens because us robots are just like humans!
- If Kyle Reese is your #1 and you capture him, WHY NOT KILL HIM RIGHT THEN AND THERE?!? Kyle Reese dead, John Connor dead, right? I'm not going to get into the time travel debate. Regardless of what happens after you kill Kyle Reese, the question still remains: why keep him alive just so you can bait Connor into coming? And once he's there, send ONE TERMINATOR to throw him around. REALLY?!?!
eek.gif

- At the beginning, Connor's helicopter crashes because a nuke went off, but somehow blowing up several nukes at Skynet has no effect on their escape at the end!
- How did the humans not figure out what Marcus was sooner? Didn't want to give it away too soon? They freakin gave everything away in the trailer already! When that hick punches Marcus, shouldn't he have broken his hand? How does Marcus not rip the head off of those hicks when punching them? Shouldn't he weigh a ton? How would you be able to carry him back to the base? Isn't the purpose of the minefield to stop terminators from entering? Then how is it that Marcus still has both legs intact?!?
laugh.gif

- How does the molten metal not melt the Terminator when it so clearly does in T2?
- I'm just going to assume that John Connor and Marcus Wright were exact matches for a heart transplant.
grin.gif

And that's not even half of it.

movie was pretty good to me, no complaints. lot of action, sound effects were executed well (movie will sound great on surround sound). could of seen some moreT-600's but it was sufficient enough to progress the story.

BTW I wouldn't suggest bringing someone who hasn't seen the first two Terminator's because they will be confused about the plot and how things cameinto fruition (ie. my girl was asking so many damn questions, I was like "just watch the *#$#%%+ movie already")

wuSHUM, I totally agree with just about all of your analysis (peep mine at the top of pg 19).

That first one you listed about the horrible title sequence & opening irked me too.
laugh.gif
(Though in the grand scheme of things, it had no real impact onthe movie itself).

Also, I'm not gonna get into why when....
Spoiler [+]
.... they had Reese captured, why didn't they just kill him instead of waiting for Connor to show up as well.
eyes.gif

I just feel as if this movie had so many plotholes and such an underwhelming script that it can't possibly be looked at as a "success".

Sure there were tons of explosions and lots of action. But this was clearly a popcorn movie that used the eye-candy to gloss over the lack of storyline.

Oh, and to address a couple of your questions wuSHUM:
Spoiler [+]
- The reason it was necessary for homegirl to have cancer was to stress how she was planning to use Marcus' body for research on cancer. I had no problem with that as a plot device.

- And the little girl was just there to hand John the detonator at the end.

to see an ending that means nothing to the terminator series. At least T3 showed me how judgement day occured. This movie was a day in the life of John Conner and his idiot military friends.

This movie didn't push the action genre forward, the terminator story forward, or the careers of anyone involved forward. But that's what happens when you get a movie directed by a dude who calls himself McG and the writing team who brought you Catwoman.

Thank you for illuminating that fact.

I may wait until this hits the net.

The only thing I would watch this in the theater is the fact that I don't have a tv/monitor as big as the silver screen.

More than likely, I'll matinee is just to support Common.

Bring on Harry Potter/Disctrict 9.

Just got back from watching and wuSHUMast3r, you're dead on with your review. I wanted to like it but there were a lot of things bugging me about themovie.

Spoiler [+]
That opening sequence was pure garbage. Why did they need to show DIRECTED BY McG twice?

If viewed soley as a mindless action movie, I can appreciate it. But for the life of me I can't understand how Skynet, the boss of all bosses, sucked so bad at killing humans. It's like they wanted to give them a fair fight.

Wouldn't a cold, calculating, artifially intellgient machine just send out 5 terminators for every 1 human still alive? You'd think that those giant Terminators would be everywhere patrolling, stepping on people and blowing *%@! up.

Did anyone else think the end, when they blew Skynet up, was waaaaaaaaay too much like the end of Contra?
laugh.gif

One more thing. Why did Marcus just give up on life when he got a THIRD chance to not only live again, but be accepted as human?
eyes.gif

Movie was garbage.

wuSHUMast3r, I COMPLETELY agree with your analysis.

I cannot believe that the great musical composer, Danny Elfman actually attached his name to ths hot piece of garbage.

I now fully understand why Bale blew up on the set and pwned that production guy. Wouldn't you be mad if you were in a movie with this bad a script too?? And was I the only one that every time Bale yelled in the movie, was reminded of him cursing that poor guy out on that audio that was leaked?

It was absolutely ******ed that they spoiled in the trailers that Marcus Wright was really a robot. That would have been a great twist to experience whilewatching the movie. He was arguably the most interesting character in this train wreck of a movie. What a joke.

Movie was desent. It started out slow but it got better as it progressed. Never seen the first terminator so i didn't know about j.conors dad, so i waskind of lost in the plot.
