09 Real Deal College Football Discussion/No Homers - Lets geh geh GET IT!

And from the internet poster "LSU FREEK":

Come and listen to my story 'bout a coach named Lane
The poor Volunteer was really glad his daddy came
And then one day, he was shootin' off his mouth
And out came the news, Ole Petey had run out

Carroll that is. From the Trojans. USC.

Well, the first thing you know when Lane became aware
The kin folk said "Lane, move away from there."
Said "Californy is the place you oughtta be!"
So they left a Vol pup,
And they moved to USC.

and Jay, check ur inbox...i'm bout to send you the link to a youtube vid about Lane that ain't NT friendly, otherwise i'd post it.

Like IYE said previously....Bradley Roby has officially decommitted from Vanderbilt and verballed to Ohio State. It looks like it actually came down to Auburnand Ohio State.

Goes to the same high school that Cam Heyward went to.

ESPN just said UTk has contacted Phil Fulmer about becoming their AD or head coach again...
laugh.gif

Not true at all . ESPN Wojo is suggesting it. because hes a fulmer-ite... hes a grad and loves the guy

Mike Hamilton just said Phil is a no go in the press conference

and our 8 EE are in class.

Jacques Smith isnt in class, he went home to think about it but might not be anything he can do about it

JUCOs Matt Simms and Thompkins are either going to Tennessee or will have to face sitting out a transfer yr and will only be eligible for college football for1 yr

MH says the target for a HC being in place is Sunday afternoon.

That's the biggest %#!@ you USC could give the NCAA

The recruiting wars in socal about to be fun

Lane accumulated secondary violations for his recruiting tactics and got in a lot of trouble for calling out Urban Meyer with the SEC.

He just needs to be more under the radar.

Not a loud scumball, but a slick scumball like the coach he always calls out....Urban Meyer.

Plus even with all that Lane has done so far, he isn't as bad as the coach across town. They call him Slick Rick for a reason, a coach that brought downtwo programs (Colorado, Washington).

It has been a crazy past 15 hours or so for the Volunteer Nation. Tennessee fans saw their head coach bolt for USC Tuesday evening and the recruits were in shock. Here is what we know on a number of the commitments at this time.

  • Markeith Ambles: Ambles has not taken his name off the commitment list yet, but him making a change is a possibility. He was informed of the news by Kiffin himself and Kiffin asked Ambles to follow them to Southern Cal A number of schools have already contacted the Ambles family, so stay tuned.
  • JaWuan James: We have confirmed that James is still in Knoxville, but that he did not attend class on Wednesday. He is one of the several early enrollees, so we will stay on top of this and try to update his status later today.
  • Corey Miller: Miller confirmed with Scout that he is staying at Tennessee and that he is 100 percent Volunteer.
  • Delvin Jones: Jones already had scheduled official visits to Ole Miss and Arkansas later this month and that is still the plan for now. He is no longer committed to Tennessee and he said his scheduled visit to UT for this weekend was up in the air.
  • Brandon Willis: Willis is another early enrollee and he was not on campus yet when Kiffin announced he was going to USC Tuesday night. He will not make it to Knoxville now and is driving to North Carolina right now to enroll.
  • Michael Taylor: Rumors were already swirling about Taylor making a change after he visited Florida officially over the weekend, so him announcing that he de-committed on Wednesday morning came as no surprise. Florida could be his new school in a matter of days.
  • Jacques Smith: Smith is a five-star commitment and he admitted Tuesday night that he was "shocked" by the news of Kiffin taking the USC job. When asked about his commitment status, he said, "no comment".
  • Ted Meline: Meline was set to start class today, but he did not go. He is going to sit today out, his mentor is fielding calls, and they will make a decision soon. Purdue and North Carolina have already called to check on Meline's status.
  • J.C. Copeland: Copeland is still committed right now. He was caught off guard and surprised by the news, but he is still planning to go on his official visit this weekend. Copeland talked to Coach Thompson this morning and all is good for now.
Scout will update this feature as we get news in.

So the dudes that are on campus, even if they didn't go to class, would have to request an appeal to the ncaa in order to not sit out a year if theytransfer?

how many appeals does the NCAA approve of because of coachign changes...damn near none. thats where the NCAA sticks it to the student athletes.
them boys are stuck. the advantage of being an EE is huge but this is prolly the lone disadvantage..

nah p mac, that is not correct.

Scroll back a page or two. I posted the rule

CLK was in that hallway Mad nervous and shaken cus he almost got Whupped
smh.gif

What I didn't know was that it almost turned physical from the players, Kiffin had to be escorted out by police.
Monte told the players something to the effect of "don't talk to my son like that", and that he disagreed with the decision but he was going to USC b/c he's family.

THIS is exactly why the NCAA needs to change the rules regarding these types of circumstances. CLK and basically his entire staff bounces a fewdays after these kids enrolled.

That is complete and utter BS. F'ing with 18 year olds futures and college experiences. It's so damn wrong that these kids are LOCKED IN while thecoach(es) who brought them there in the first place can do whateeeveeer they damn well please to do at any given moment.
smh.gif

What's the real story on this supposed Tennessee Super Bowl part or Kiffin crashing his car or some %%$#.

commit to the school and not to the coach.

"allegedly" he wrecked his Lex last yr drunk driving and it got covered up

I dont buy it, even if its true, if u were willing to cover it up when he was ur coach, then leave it buried when hes not the coach

It's a %#%%## up situation when Lane can walk away from Tennessee with no sort of penalty, but if they had fired him and moved on they'd owe him everypenny they agreed upon...

Unfortunate for these kids, too.. But we've had that discussion a thousand times before..

That year for spring practice, Lane Kiffin instituted a new rule, profanity was permissible in the songs they would play as the players stretched.

As UT players got loose and children visiting practice ran along the sidelines, hardcore rap lyrics blared alongside Kid Rock anthems.

The current players had no issue with the cursing, some liked it.

But several former UT players were offended when they brought their young children to the practice and heard the music, according to team sources interviewed by FanHouse.

Kiffin didn't care.

"He told me that's how they did it at USC," McNeil says.

Sorry, I have no problem with this.

He's not there to babysit those kids.
