I'm with you. I don't understand the trade at all but I would think that you have to have something ready if you make that move. Something must be cooking. Lamar had to go but how do you replace him? Is D-12 coming?

NBA source tell me the Lakers did not approach other teams with cap space or trade exceptions before making the deal sending Odom to Dallas.

I don't know, to me it sounds like they just wanted Lamar gone ASAP. To trade him for nothing is really bad business wise and sounds more personal than anything.

-even if they it is a salary dump I doubt the lakers have enough cap space to sign a star next summer
-cp3 and dwight may be with another team and sign extensions by that time
