2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

This is what I don't think most people get. Its not even that KD left OKC, its that he went to one of the 2 best teams in the NBA.

Factor in a regular person leaving their job and bettering their situation is nothing like the NBA

. You can go get a better job, but your company is not going to go through hell replacing you. You leaving your job is not going to cause your sector to go into turmoil and possibly shut the markets down because you were just that important to them. This is for anyone in corporate america or whatever.

KD's decision is not directly impacting him. Its indirectly impacting the entire NBA. Its a reason why people say we could potentially see another lockout and why people still see an issue with competitive balance in the NBA.
Exactly the KD move turned the NBA into a two team league
Bulls are really trying to top Nuggets's 52 mil offer for Wade

What the F are they smoking over there

You don't care about that cable bill so who cares about everyone else who pays it and doesn't even tune into fox sports Midwest to watch the Mavericks. BUT, as long as millionaires keep on stacking because they are a minority, I'm cool with it.

It's such backwards thinking. I'm baffled
agreed

True but may not be a 2 team league. But ultimately, it doesn't matter if they say it now, yesteryear or next year. It's always been this way. Top heavy.

Yeah I think there is great talent in the league, it's just more concentrated

After the Jordan retirement, league talent felt like an all time low for some years :x

The CP overrating will always be disgusting

I really wish the Cavs would really be able to trade Kyrie for CP just to show how the Cavs would fall short without Kyrie's scoring.

This dude Royce Young is about to lose whatever job he has.

He's got to chill on this Subject.

Find the next hottest topic and concentrate on that, man....

Local Radio going in on Barkley so I'm sure that has been a topic in here today too, right?

Okay...?

And...?

I fail to see what the issue is, or why I shouldn't be glad to see players I follow earn the most they ever have from their negotiated split with their partners. Sounds to me like your beef is with capitalism, or the free market system, or the current landscape of TV. Or it's just plain ol' crabs in a bucket mentality. Regardless of whatever it might be...all I know we think differently. It is what it is.

There was no outrage when Ray Allen left the Celtics for the guy who kept "takin him out"
He was continuously called a snake, traitor, Benedict Arnold, Judas, etc. People hated the move.
I think you're misremembering. I recollect there being way, way more positive commentary on NT and excitement from neutral observers when he made that move. A wide margin of people said he was making the right basketball decision and they had no issues with it.

At first it was whatever to me, but then he opened his mouth and kept talking about why he left. And kept talking about it. And said some more. Eventually came off as a jaded herb and I didn't like that.

...then he hit that shot in Game 6 and chokeslammed my feels straight to hell.

Because CP is a better defender, rebounder, passer, etc., etc.
I'm glad you left off scorer, shooter, and rim finisher
Because that's literally all that he has over CP. I will say this, when it comes to scoring, CP is just as, if not more, efficient than Kyrie and the difference in ability between them is marginal.

CP also understands WHEN to score better. Part of running an offense is knowing when not to be the offense, when to make the smart pass and keeps guys involved and engaged.

bruh Hyperdunks drop tomorrow. The OG joints form 2008. The kicks Kobe jumped the Aston in. Swerve. Kicks went too hard on the court.

Exactly the KD move turned the NBA into a two team league

Went to a team with 3 "all NBA" players from the previous season..

Realistically you had 4 serious contenders prior to that move.. Now you're going need a couple things to go wrong for another team to even have a chance

They'll be susceptible to size on the interior and teams attacking the rim (bogut and fetus were important to them at certain points last year), but how many teams really will have that right combination and can do it for enough games over a seven game series.. Then you need at least 2 out of the steph, klay and Durant combo to be off shooting wise

Only way the league is interesting next year is if they face adversity

Right, I'm sure bron don't wanna watch him dribble 23.5 seconds of the shot clock and not do nothing with it. His stats would like nice though, and they would continue to overrate him on defense

I think it went from three contenders (Cavs, Warriors, Thunder) to just two.

It blows.

Spurs had/have size and length too.. And would have had a shot vs any of that group

The Adams/kanter combo was huge for the thunder vs them
