There are no other contenders. If everyone stays healthy, the entire 2016-17 NBA season is a mere formality. There has never been a team this overpowered in NBA history. A team where if you completely remove their best player from their roster, they are still the favorite to win the NBA title. Not just contenders but favorites to win the title without their best player.

And if you keep all things equal. Meaning player 2-5 is the exact same, and give every pg in the L the reigns...I'd say CP3's team would probably fair the best.

By that argument a guy like Rondo is still a top PG in the NBA
By that argument a guy like CP is legit better than Steph.
Why ppl so in love with high assist numbers and high percentages or the pure point guard in general

Give me Myrie. Hot sauce is the ultimate #2 guy. Sure he pounds the ball, as does CP3 but he's one of the best scorers in the league. He's not afraid of the moment. Don't eem care if he doesn't pass

Steph is sometimes worse than CP

He has done well with the team that he has

Houston had Drexler, Pippen, Barkley and Olajuwon in that lineup and Barkley out here flappin his gums.
Hakeem, Barkley, and Clyde were still good players then, but they were still 33-34 years old. When Pippen came in and Clyde retired, Hakeem was no longer elite anymore, and was getting injured, and Barkley was struggling even though he was still scoring. That 98-99 Rockets team was more 2010-2011 Boston Celtics than anything, except they didn't have a Rondo or even Glen Davis to back up all that age from Hakeem, Clyde, and Pippen. What Barkely should've done though is get himself traded their heading into the 95/96 season.

We just need one of Clips/Grizz to be a 4th seed.
Can't have Clips and Grizz somehow taking each other out before they see GSW.
WE need GSW to see one of those teams in the 2nd rd and the other in the 3rd rd.
Can't really count on OKC or Portland at this point of the conversation, don't know what either will turn out this year.

I think you're misremembering. I recollect there being way, way more positive commentary on NT and excitement from neutral observers when he made that move. A wide margin of people said he was making the right basketball decision and they had no issues with it.
At first it was whatever to me, but then he opened his mouth and kept talking about why he left. And kept talking about it. And said some more. Eventually came off as a jaded herb and I didn't like that.
...then he hit that shot in Game 6 and chokeslammed my feels straight to hell.

Pretty much, though I personally didn't have a problem with it. But yea, a lot of people hated Ray Allen going there, especially in regards to KG and Pierce.
Which team does Ray readily identify with though? I remember back then people bringing up which team would retire his jersey, cause I actually think he was key for all 4 teams he was on.

Probably the only two teams with the size and physicality to take them out
I really need to see how Memphis is looking next year and hope they remain healthy going into the playoffs. Going through the last two playoffs unhealthy sucked badly.

Celtics improved, heat will be decent if wade is back, pistons going to take a step forward, Raptors still have the trash brothers, and the Pacers and Knicks seemed to have taken a decent leap forward.
Meanwhile in the West OKC will be fringe playoffs, Spurs are older, Mavs will be in the usually basketball purgatory, the trail blazers wasted 75M on a guy who shoots 22% from three. The Clippers and the Warriors are seemingly the only playoffs teams that may be better than last year.
