2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

So Bulls fans weren't really Bulls fans... just rose fans [emoji]129300[/emoji]

NY gonna be fun to watch imo if healthy... IF healthy.

Those first 44 games are gonna be :smokin then when everybody starts getting injured and quitting, Porzingis and Lee will have to take over

Melo just turned in the worst individual season of his career since he was rookie & is on the wrong side of 30, Rose has missed 15+ games in each of past 5 seasons, Noah has been hurt every year except 2 and is a shell of himself, KP is just in year 2.

But if we say 55 wins is outrageous we're hating

That Suns team that Horny won 48 with had near immaculate health, Bledsoe went down but they had Dragic Green & Tuck on the perimeter so they didn't miss him.

The Knicks have nothing like that if/when Rose goes down.

 I think he's trying to get two big names with those assets like he did with Ray & Garnett. He doesn't wanna empty the cupboard for just one. A young guy is gonna require a bigger haul unfortunately for Ainge.

Knicks tape byke?

I'm not going to say Ainge should've unloaded everything on draft night for Butler, but imagine Ainge walking into a meeting with Durant with Horford and Butler in hand...

Thomas
Butler
Durant
Horford

Then you get Russ and play small ball or you get blake and play horford at the 5.

That's a stacked starting five

Am I missing something

we were discussing if they traded for Butler on draft night, they would've had butler / horford / Thomas to lure in KD.

Then after Danny could try to go after blake or Russ (would be really hard because he would've traded some pieces for Butler already).

55 is alot of wins.

too many things need to be right to even get close to that.

Between 40-50 wins seems more realistic if alot of things go right.

December: Just give them some time. Once this team gels, they're gonna be scary.
February: TRADE EVERYONE. FIRE COACH ______.
April: Vacation plans.

Of course a lot of things has to go right to get 55 wins. That's why the OP said that 55 wins was the ceiling.

From the reactions in here, you would think he had said that 55 wins was the floor

Nah man even if EVERYTHING were to go right 55 wins is still really unrealistic, thats the point

55 wins for the knicks means KP is averaging 25 and 11, Rose played 78 games with 19 and 9, and Melo played great team ball.

Nope. 45 seems like a good scenario for the NBA's most expensive franchise. That would be a great season for them

55 wins is A LOT is all im saying

55 wins is the elite of the elite in the NBA. So are we saying the Knicks ceiling this year is one of the elite teams in the league?

Literally the warriors/Spurs/Clippers/Cavs/Raptors are the only teams in the league who could challenge for that 55 win threshold.

Plus, for NYK 55 wins is arbitrary. They dont have to win 55 games to have a great year this year
