Magic was on to something. Ben was projected to be Lebron status at the time, he had the height, he had the weight, he had the passing ability, the handles and his IQ was good. He was only missing the elite jump shot, which you can work on....

....problem is, he never worked on it
He never really developed wiggle or dribble drive ability besides the shooting. Can’t be bad at both almost regardless of position

I'm curious if the Simmons dump off to Thybulle resulted in two made three throws instead of a split, would Simmons still be getting ran outta Philly like this?
Yes. Dunk it, get the foul and flex on em 😤

but that clown was busy tryna pad his assist count

Simmons, while already being killed for being too passive, passes up the highest percentage shot possible, on a chance for a 3. I don't care if that went in. It's bad basketball and absolutely inexcusable from the person that's supposed to be running the offense.

Same **** with Dray and the layup in the olympics he didn't take. He panicked and passed up on an open layup to chuck the ball to Dame on the perimeter who was being guarded. Idc Dame made the 3. That's bad basketball.

This is the most frustrating part about Ben Simmons. Similar to the conversation we had about Shaq not living up to his potential when he had potential to be the 🐐 If he put the work in,Ben Simmons is a similar case.

Been averaged 16/8/8 as a rookie. I thought that he legitimately had potential to be a top five player if he continued to progress...4 years later and he's putting up the exact same stat line with no offensive progression (admittedly, his defense has gotten a lot better). Seeing as Ben Simmons has top five potential, being a top 30 player is a disappointment IMO

Top 30 is a stretch

Someone back then said he wouldn’t be an all time great because the greats at least take their team to the tournament and I think about that all the time

The interesting parallel is that this was a pre-draft knock on Simmons and Markelle Fultz (ie "if you're really one of the best players in the nation and worthy of being the first overall pick in the draft, why can't you make your team one of the 64 best teams in the country?")

Both of them haven't lived up to expectations in the league

What I don’t get about Ben Simmons and this situation is that 30 NBA coaches have voted over the past 3 years and put him in the ASG but now that he’s on the block no team wants him and they’re throwing lowball offers. Gotta be the power of Klutch and Philly being a big market getting him in the game  Rudy Goberts been making All-NBAs and winning DPOYs without campaigning and he just started getting All-star nods in 2020 :smh:

LSU and Udub was *** cheeks. KD wouldn't have taken them to the tourney

Edit: I forgot LSU opted out of the tourneys too

wait Shaq and Ben Simmons in the same reply?

how sway

CJ was also the best player in a series where his tough 1 on 1 shots, sent Portland to its first WCF in like 20 years.

He gets unfairly criticized imo. Dude can hoop, but has limitations.

I been feeling like folks got hit with the Men In Black ray when it comes to CJ because he stepped outta bounds once

Dude has cooked in the playoffs most of his career

It's really none of that really. Before talent, It starts with his attitude and mentality towards the game. He's a mental ******, entitled, doesn't take accountability, cares more about his lifestyle than the game of basketball. And that's why he will never be close to LeBron.

That's because the ASG votes came before the playoffs.

Just drawing the comparison:

As I said the other day, the three most talented basketball players ever are LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal and Wilt Chamberlain. Shaq had the potential to be the 🐐 so being a top 10 player, while still amazing, means he didn't live up to his ful potential. Shaq didn't watch what he ate, didn't really add moves says repertoire and didn't take it as seriously as others.

Same goes for Ben Simmons. He has the talent to be a top five player, so being a top 30 player (while still impressive) means he's not living up to his full potential. Ben has essentially made zero progress offensively since his rookie year
