2025 NBA Draft Thread

Don't really have an issue with the Oladipo comp. I think most are making the comparison based off of the player that Oladipo is NOW, which is fine. Strong 6'4"/6'5" scoring guards with good athleticism that can defend and create a bit for others. You're rarely going to have an exact comp. Just something that gets you close.
Bradley Beal?

Kendall Gill and Desmond Mason were near non shooters as pros

Stylistically, he's a lot like how Mitchell currently operates, especially on ball. Inefficient 2's but can heat up in a hurry from all 3 levels. His ball skills/footwork/athleticism seem similar as well, but again Mitchell is 23 (and much shorter) and Edwards just turned 18 which is insane in itself

I was thinking maybe Wade, but Wade had more wiggle. But at this point we’re just overthinking it. Mitchell and Oladipo seem like the best comparisons for current players.

Joe was a pseudo point guard, if Edwards' ball skills can get to that level his ceiling would be the roof

Vic and Mitchell can also somewhat play lead guard but still have a lot to prove in that role. Both of them got lead guards this summer anyway but yeah

It’s funny how dudes went from thinking Lamelo wasn’t an NBA talent....that was just some “hype” from his brother...to now saying he shouldn’t go #1 .

Doesn’t matter. Lavar told y’all the kid was talented. And some of us told y’all he was a legit 1st round prospect, with the chance to improve his stock if he did some things. There was a decent number People really talked about Lamelo, like he was Gelo.

The talent was evident. The Lavar hate and unorthodox path Melo has taken has clouded judgement.
