AJ XXX (30)

it would definitely sting a yeezy release if the 30 came out on the same day, or at least take some shine.

that's just nonsense. There are three types of Ppl that buy yzys 1. They are ppl that really want them/Kanye fans. 2. They are hypebeast that just want them to show off because it is consider a high end fashion shoe. 3. Resellers. None of them include people that care for the Jordan 30.

No facts, just speculation. Grasping at straws like everyone else on this tread.

Anyone old enough to remember the 20th anniversary in 2005? They had special shoe boxes, special tags on all clothing released that year and a fair bit of marketing material commemorating the 20th anniversary. Hell the 'Dub-Zero' was the unofficial anniversary shoe to the official Jordan XX.

It's damn near the end of 2015 and they've done nothing at all to celebrate 30 years of the brand. Just goes to show how much it is about the bottom dollar these days and churning out low quality retros almost on a daily basis with no acknowledgement of history.

I guess you didn't notice the retros with the 30th anniversary stamps on the insole....May not be much, but it isn't nothing....

They went with the og silver box with a 20 circle logo on the top where a red jumpman would've been in 1999

How great would this be? On December 26th a tweet comes through from Nikestore saying air Jordan XXX available now and that's the 1st time we see it? It would sell out on mystery alone. It would have the pages with pics and all the specs and info then have the unveiling afterward and stores get them that following week. I know it's not happening, but man I'd love it. Lol.

Pictures of the shoes players will wear in Christmas still haven't been released, right?
What is Russ gonna wear?
Hopefully the XXX…

you're right about them doing less but they definitely didn't do nothing. they did more to make a big deal of it for the 20th anniversary because back then shoes weren't hyped to sh*t. It was a business opportunity for them. The 30th anniversary is more or less just a milestone. like someone mentioned they stamped the insoles and they also did a new laser print that they used on the 1s, 4s, 20s and whatever else. Not to mention they retro'd the 20s and the 10s I guess paying homage to those 2 other milestones.

Heck the 23rd anniversary had the 11 packs... Which was very creative and it was a history driven product. Everything went down hill from there IMO. we had the 11/12 pack which started the jb "holiday craze" and hyped the resell market for JB

We def needed something big for a decade anniversary.

yes, those were the cool days, but Dub Zero still sucked.

all the Laser and all-star shoes from this year all had 30 on the insole actually.

the only thing good about the countdown pack was the price originally at $310 for two pair of shoes. now a pack is a ridiculous $500.

After all that marketing Daniel Ewing (not a Jordan Brand member) wore these while with the Clippers before the release date, with the straps cut off. It was in the original Jordan XX thread, can't find it though. Pretty sure after all that marketing that isn't the person or the way they wanted the shoe to be presented.

lol most of the people that wears the XX has no clue how to properly wear that strap. there's a small tab with jumpman logo on it you were suppose to flip up and velcro it to the strap to lock the strap down. instead of doing that, people let it hang loose and complain about the strap causing discomfort. not even Melo wore his PE right. lol

I wonder why he's not a member lols. some no name idiot that's too dumb to wear a shoe correctly.

right. it's as simple as opening the box and looking at the diagram. maybe the pe's didn't come with a diagram but still it doesn't take a genius to figure out what the tab is for. I tried wearing them without the tab connected once and even if you do it superrrrrrrrrr loose they still manage to pinch your legs. there is simply no way to rock the 20 other than the way it was intended.

Tinker also designed the XVI- read "Driven From Within". He did the sketches for the shoe and handed it off to the design team to bring them to production. Similar to the way he designs today.

Back in the day he was more hands on during the entire design process. But he's so busy these days that he makes the initial sketches and then hands it off to the JB team. Nice gig.
