Debeers to sell affordable lab grown Diamonds this fall

then try to pass it off as all natural. In that case it's just sad and they end up looking like clowns;

lab made diamonds are chemically indistinguishable from their land mined counterparts.

this is going to completely change da way everyone looks at a daimond and da way everyone feels about rocks in general.

It’s unfortunate that so many people are clueless about diamonds.

Bottom line is diamonds are not rare and the only reason they are expensive is the major corporations who own most of the worlds supply set the price and have tricked the general public into believing the narrative that they are actually getting something special.

If these stones are so rare how does one explain every Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, K-Mart, Sears, and all those mall jewelry stores having mass quantities?

People know this subconsciously, but yet are brainwashed by the propaganda. Sort of like how we buy a $150 Nike sneaker over a $70 Reebok sneaker.

So everyone here that thinks there's no difference between a lab created diamond and a natural one... are you also ok with buying bootleg shoes?

None of those places sell fine jewelry, key word is fine. Diamonds themselves are not SUPER rare. They're rare enough that you can only find them in certain places for the most part, and that a lot of time and effort goes into extracting them and actually cutting them into something beautiful, which is another rare skill in itself. Gem quality diamonds, especially large ones, are even less common. There are rarer gemstones. High quality rubies, emeralds, and alexandrite are far more rare than diamonds, but diamonds still have superior hardness which makes them more practical for something that you wear all the time. At the end of the day, a diamond is not a necessity.

apples and coconuts to emphasize how off base you are

a lab created diamond gets created by literally mirroring what happens in nature in a controlled lab environment...

as a result a indentical scientifically indistinguishable diamond is formed.

its like calling indoor grown hydroponic lamp fed marijuana bootleg cuz it wasn't grown natural by da sun

Do you not understand the difference between lab grown and natural?

do you not understand that chemically they're identical?

if you clone a animal, da clone is still a animal.

we wasnt calling da cloned sheep bootleg lambchop

A lab =/= nature. There are no real value in lab grown stones compared to natural ones, just like there is little value in a bootleg shoe made in the same type of sweat shop in China as the official one. It's more similar than you would like to think, but do you.

If you think a cloned animal is the same as a naturally born one then I am clearly wasting my time in this argument. Have a good night.

that's pure subjective talk.

value is what someone deems something is worth.

we're talking science, and right now? you're not saying anything that bunks lab made diamonds being identical to their land mined counterpart.

do you know lab diamonds share optical, and hardness of anything that comes outta da soil?

gem makers can cut a lab grown diamond as intricate and impressive as anything else b.

Actually the value factor is not subjective, it's a fact. Lab grown gems are nothing new. Lab grown gemstones have been around for a long time and they do not affect the value of natural ones at all. They are just another option for people that do not want to spend a lot for them, but there is still a demand for something beautiful that was created by nature. There is a market for organic food just like there is a market for cheap processed and steroid laden foods. There is still a market for real higher end clothing just like there is a market for bootleg ****. There is still a market for authentic media just like there a market for bootleg movies music and games. There is a market for original pieces of art just like there is a market for replicas. I could go on and on but I think you get the point. Chemistry isn't the point, there is a difference between something that is man made and something that is made by nature, because nature makes things in limited quantities and anything man made can be made to infinity and beyond. Also the FDA mandates that all synthetic diamonds must be marked and marketed appropriately because if they didn't then it would **** up the market value of REAL, naturally formed diamonds, and even though they might not be as rare as some people think, they are more rare than something that someone can just create.

I'm just glad it's not going to take you 12 years to cop one of these lab grown diamonds.
