Patrick Beverley, G, Ukraine
Beverley was a pretty interesting 2-guard at Arkansas from 2006-08. But at 6-1, he didn't have much chance of playing that position in the NBA. So he left Arkansas after his sophomore season and went to the Ukraine to work on his point guard skills. The results have been impressive.
He's really helped his stock in workouts and at the Reebok Eurocamp. I think the he's moved his way onto the first-round bubble.
Really? Brooks must feel like crap then. Wow. Not to mention Lowry proved himself as well as at least a legit backup.Originally Posted by franchise3
Word is, the Rockets are legitly looking into the top 10, to draft one of the PG's.
It's not known who they're targetting and who they're willing to trade.

Honestly if HOU puts a rookie PG on this team I would die of laughter. They are a "win now" team assuming they keep Ron Ron, I don'tthink Yao wants a damn rookie pg in the starting lineup. LMAO.Originally Posted by franchise3
Honestly, Brooks' stock can't be any higher right now after what he did in the playoffs. It's no mistake he was more effective with Yao out the lineup as well, since Brooks is more of a drive to the hoop player and Yao was clogging the lane.
If Rubio is gone @ 2, whether by Memphis or a team trading up, a team looking at Evans, Jennings, Flynn, Holliday, Curry, has to be intrigued by Brooks. Brooks would come a lot cheaper, than one of these rookies and their lottery contracts. A team like Sacramento and GSW for example, I could see being interested in Brooks.
..unless TMac is the package.
I think the Rockets are targetting Rubio, but more realistically, Evans or Curry.
Evans because he's a finisher and can play 2, or Curry to give the Rockets a deep threat with Yao.
I don't see the upgrade with a Jennings, Flynn or Holliday really.

They're gonna be NICE if they can find some consistent point guard play...Originally Posted by cleansneaksonly21

Is Wafer going to be that expensive that you can't keep him around?Originally Posted by franchise3
I've come to the conclusion that if the Rockets make a trade, it's for Curry.
Lowry is the starting point, and Von Wafer is a goner.

Not sure if Golden State needs another scoring PG like Brooks. I doubt Kings will want Brooks considering they don't want Rondo fromCeltics... Rockets will have to give up something for the #4 pick. Brooks is not enough. Even with his good but inconsistent playoff run... I would want a PGthat can pass to Yao more effectively. Of course, if T-Mac is healthy, there will be no problems with that.Originally Posted by franchise3
Considering he's got into it with RA more then once, to the point of getting sent to the locker room during game 2 of the playoffs, I think he might be goner. Either the Rockets or somebody is going to give this guy a pay raise.
Considering the Rockets are working on resigning Ron, do the Rockets really want to use part of their MLE to resign Von Wafer, considering they're probably better served to use that towards a legit back up big man.
Wafer out, Curry in. Bench pts while being groomed to be the starting point of the future.
Considering we have Yao, Curry is the only dude who makes sense. Best 3 pt shooter in the draft.
Nobody would take Brooks over Rubio. But teams have to be intrigued by Brooks over every point not named Rubio, considering he'd come at a cheaper price contract wise and he'd still fill a need. Which might be enticing for teams like Sac, GSW, etc.
Paul Harris and Eric Devendorf work out for Minnesota Timberwolves

Most of the attention being paid to the NBA draft by Syracuse fans and this blog has focused on Jonny Flynn. It makes sense. Flynn appears to be a lottery pick lock and his draft stock seems to be rising.
However, Paul Harris, Flynn's former Niagara Falls High School and Syracuse University teammate, is also in this draft. Harris is considered a second-round pick or an undrafted free agent type.
On Tuesday, Harris was one of six players who worked out for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Here's the rundown from the T'Wolves' website.
One day before Harris hit Minneapolis, Syracuse's Eric Devendorf was in town. Devendorf also worked out for the T'Wolves. Thanks to blog reader Ted for the heads-up on Devendorf's workout.
Taken from the Wolves website:
--Paul Harris was the most physically impressive player out of the morning session crew. If Harris can make the adjustment to shooting guard, he could be a lockdown defender off the bench for Minnesota.
"With my comment bout Rubio, im just tryin hype the draft up a lil, make the summer league something everybody wanna see," Jennings wrote.

B' move on his part even saying that stuff in the first place....all I know is that Jennings better come correct in summer league and also from here onout....if Rubio busts his #@$....
Also, regarding Paul Harris.....from what I've read, he's gotten favorable reviews since he started working out for the draft. I wonder if he'llsneak his way in to the end of round 1? If he can get his jumper going, I could see him being a more physical version of the 08-09 DeShawn Stevenson....
*Looks like I'll be eating crow about DaJuan Summers...InMyMind was right....dude is gonna get in round 1
