FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

We usually do christmas brunch...I still may do a little something for dinner if we don't go anywhere.

usually do the big meal on christmas eve. Prime tenderloin, lobster tails, king crab legs, with assorted sides, apps, and 'serts.

Man, that’s a lot better than what we do. At my family’s house, it’s basically Thanksgiving Part 2, but with a honey ham instead of a Turkey.

Christmas Eve is always my Mom’s from-scratch lasagna.

yall adding pho, ramen, and chilli into soup discussions

1. Menudo/ Pozole
2. Clam Chowder
3. Pho

I grew up in a very german family (in america), and christmas was always these nasty brats, sausages (whatever they are), and other foul stuff. ALways said when i had my own family id be eating steak and lobster. Well now i do, so thats what we do. :lol

Nice. I have my own family as well, but both my parents and my wife’s parents live right near us, so we always go to their houses for Christmas Eve and Christmas. May have to take a page out of your book and start hosting at my house so I have creative control of the dinner menu.

Last couple of years my mother in law comes over to spend the night & we get a ton of Chinese take out including some Peking duck (half) with some pancakes. Kinda took this idea from A Christmas story.

I kinda want to do a good prime rib roast for Christmas. I did this lady's recipe a while ago & it turned out perfectly. The wifey & the moms in law said they'd rather do Chinese though... :rolleyes

.

Props to you for at least thinking about the cost of what you ordered. I know people who have no qualms about completely abusing the privilege of a free lunch. Cats that automatically go for an individual appetizer, the Surf-N-Turf, and dessert.
