FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Been making smoothies with frozen blueberries/bananas but they’re coming out too thick/slushy. I think it’s the frozen bananas cause I just recently started freezing those, usually just do room temperature ones

What do you guys think. Any general tips or recipes for smoothies? I like my simple one of almond milk, blueberries, and bananas
If you want a smoother texture, room temperature bananas are a must, unless your blender is powerful.

I need bananas in every smoothie, it is part of the nature base for me.

I tend not to make ALL fruit smoothies, just too much sugar into the blood stream at once. I need a Kale/Spinach in there. But if I use a green, I use water and not almond milk

It absolutely is.
Yea in a simple world but you are missing the fact that many people appreciate the crust and/or don't like the visual of Prime Rib.

Even those that EAT Medium Rare.

It is far from a simple 1:1 transition as you are making it out to be.

Case by case situation

I’ve never not had a good “crust” around the sides of a prime rib from a restaurant that knows how to properly prepare them.

Depends on which part of the cut you get. If you get an ENTIRE prime rib, you can slice off what you want.

If you just get a middle slice, "just around the sides" won't be enough for many

Plenty of folks prefer the overall crust of a steak and find a prime rib a downgrade since it is JUST around the sides

A perfectly cooked slice of prime rib is better than any steak. EVERYTHING is tender.

Remember....DC actually liked well done steaks...think about that.

No steak like meat is better than Wagyu steak.

Green tea my friend.

^^^ Crock Pots are the goods. Had one for years and never used it, but got a book of recipes for it last year and it now have it in heavy rotation. Awesome to be able to do like 20-25 minutes of prep in the morning, leave it in the pot and have a tasty dinner that night :nthat:

idk, I had a real piece of wagyu last December at a real nice steak house, was not a fan. Although it was a bit cold I took a piece from my brother and it had a really diff taste

had a ribeye that night, literally amazing wish I had a picture. Might be back going in the next month or two so hopefully I remember to take some pictures
