FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

where are you staying and what kind of food do you like?

Im staying in Anahiem but I'll be visiting friends in LA after work. figured I'll get some of the NT fam's recommendations. So anywhere near the north part of the OC and LA will be great :smokin

I'm not picky, i like all kinds of food as long as it's good

@proto onslaught, I'm gonna ramble some stuff off the top between Anaheim and LA that I've been to:

El Tepeyac (Mexican) - Boyle Heights
Masa of Echo Park (Chicago Deep Dish Pizza/Italian) - Echo Park
Matiki (Island BBQ) - Anaheim/Buena Park ... order the Beef Ribs
Mario's (Peruvian) - Hollywood/La Mirada
San Pedro Fish Market (Seafood/Fajitas) - San Pedro
Porto's Bakery (Cuban bakery) - Downey/Glendale
Gen (Korean BBQ) - Cerritos
NoodleWorld/Sanamluang Cafe (Thai) - Westwood/Hollywood
Newport Seafood (Chinese) - Alhambra

Haven't been to, but haven't heard anything but good things about these spots:
Bludso's BBQ - Compton
Baby Blues BBQ - Venice

So I tried the bacon crust deep dish pizza at LC yesterday. Wouldn't order again, $13 is too much, but it was good. I love bacon on my pizza. Needed more sauce and more bacon bits. The dough was really soft but too much dough. It'll stick to thin crust and pan.

Bludso's was very underwhelming to me. Baby Blues was better. Their Texas Beef Rib is pretty good if you're into beef ribs.

That being said, I dont know if socal is necesarily a hotspot for BBQ. Its probably the best available on this side of town, but I dont think it can compete nationwide.

Whenever I order pizza for myself, I get bacon, mushroom, onions, & green pepper... :smokin

Dinner last night, marinated grilled pork chop, fresh cut green beans, & instant lemon herb butter noodles.

How does PB's Cronut compare to the Dominique Ansel ones?

Was at Dominique Ansel couple months ago and were sold out 2 mornings in a row when I was there :smh:

Now I can't even compare the cronuts the have out here to the original cronut

I was trying to practice portion control. Fried potato anything are so addicting. My freezer is full of fries, tater tots, and hash browns.

Bad quality pic but I brought a whole brisket from Franklin's BBQ back home last week. Sh*t was crack.
