I've always wanted to learn how to play the guitar so I think I'm about to invest into an acoustic guitar and sign up for some lessons, what would you recommend would be a decent, durable guitar for a beginner at a reasonable price?

http://www.guitarcenter.c...uitar-H11638-i1549817.gc This is a nice dean.

http://www.guitarcenter.c...uitar-430382-i1529189.gc 300 dollars for this washburn, usually is about 5-600.

if you want to pay less than 200, any yamaha will do.

you can browse through guitar center's website and browse by prices. Good luck

Is the music you want to play strictly acoustic? Because if you can afford it go electric man, acoustic might bore you and you may quit halfway

Nothing wrong with going with fenders. Then again i havent heard of those guitars you posted. They look nice. But for that price, how long will they last?

Crank sort of has a point. But if you are getting lessons, you shouldnt get bored since you are learning and not always youtubing around. I played about a year and a half acoustic before i even touched an electric and 7 years later im glad i did, kinda solidified my foundation. But id say go acoustic first, and then electric.

get something cheap to start with just in case you get discouraged and say ^&*# it.

i started with a cheap nylon string acoustic. hard as hell to get used to but once i switched to my first electric, the difference was

so much easier.

what kind of stuff (styles/bands ect) are you trying to play?

Epiphone is a great entry level brand. I don't remember the models off the top of my head but go to your local guitar shop and check out their tuning heads for the strings, they are smooth like butter

I still have mine and I use it occasionally, I have a CF Martin OMC1E now
