************Hurricane Sandy Thread************ vol. BE SAFE!!!

^ If the area has power you'll be able to get gas. There were no long lines for a fill up in my general area.

Are there any relief funds up and running yet?

is there not a bike lane? when i went to NYC there were bike lanes all over the place. i have rode my bike at least 18-20 miles within an hour an a half. but i guess it's different with the colder weather and probably more congestion.

A bike lane? The Kings Plaza area of Brooklyn is dumb far from Manhattan if you rode a bike  .

My brother was deployed down to NYC two days ago. He said the conditions are horrible right now. They will slowly come back and get everyone back to living again. The amount of damage done is mind boggling too. Stay safe everyone.

 You're definitely not from the area. No one is riding a bike from Kings Plaza to Manhattan (if that's where Mez works). It would take hours considering the traffic situation. Once he hits the Flatbush Avenue Ext., given he's riding by bike, its over given the ordeal at Barclay's.

sorry but its only a hour and a half bike ride... its do-able

I think the streets are more dangerous now after the storm is gone. People are on edge and desperate to get whatever they need. Be safe and watch your back while you out there.

I finally heard from my Auntie! I was worried, but now I'm glad that all of my family on the East Coast is safe.

I hope all of my NT fam and their families are alright as well.

I still don't have any power.

I have been taking showers at the gym and going to the casino during my downtime. All the food at my house is spoiled. I do have a full tank of gas though.

I hope it comes on soon

So someone went on Google Maps I see and thinks they know it all. Did you even factor in traffic at the bridges and where Flatbush meets Atlantic? Cold as hell outside too. Who wants to ride a bike in this weather for that long?

Does anyone know if the express busses from staten island to manhattan (and vice versa) are running 24/7. I can't get in touch with mta and can't find anything about the express bus schedules online

Got my power back! feels good man. Haven't been on NT since the storm.

Trying to get gas in North Jersey is ridiculous. 1+ hour lines, I'm thinking about just waiting till like 1 AM or something

Man,my heart goes out to my fellow NewYorkers,EastCoaster's,espacially to the disadvantaged and poor people who tend to suffer the most when things of this nature occur.

No one aspects for any natural disaster to occur but I was watching the news and I saw some uncalled for,mis-directed anger coming from people who live in NJ,right near the water and I get it,they have lost their homes and everything that they own because of the storm. But there is also a side of me that can't and will not lend any sorrow to people who choose to live and build homes in a certain area's voiding all risk of doing so,no matter how high the probability is that something like this might happen. Some of them might move after this and god forbid some of them might just rebuild, but fool me once... and I will take the hint the first time and learn from it.

:smokin:Thank god, most of the home owners can afford to have choice's and even more so that its not a hurricane Katrina situation and no where close to it.

Peace
