The helmets aren't completely black, but a mix of black and dark green paints with a dark green face mask.

The "feathers/wings" serve a functional purpose as abrasion film, similar to the diamond plating on the last ones. It was inspired by the shoulderarmor of ancient gladiators, along with portraying the school's mascot, a Duck.

For example, if you combine the middle and far right shoulders of the outfits in this pic,

along with the feathers/wings of a Duck, you can see the inspiration. Also take a look at the feathers/wings on the soldiers' shields. It's alsosymbolic of how they play with their spread offense. They like to fly around the field. Tinker states that "they are probably the lightest weight uniformin the history of football."

I'm super oregon biased,
But I love this jersey.
I heard about it awhile back.
This is my favorite jersey out of all of them
2nd is the classic blk/green jersey.
Seeing all of them come out during the game had to be intimidating for arizona

I go to most games, but someone gave away my tickets to this one.

And I will not go to corvallis for the next one.
