And, like for real, who the hell was Bruce Jenner before the Kardashians? I actually pride myself on being informed on sports items that predate me. And I legitimately cannot think of one instance where I heard of Jenner without any relation to the Kardashains prior to her change. Aint nobody checking for decathlete winners, bro.

I have no idea what OJ smashing adult film stars has to do with anything either. Kim Kardashian isn't an adult film star. She was a hollywood socialite. Biiiiiig difference :lol:

She’s a billionaire. Which is the present. She made her money of endorsements, Spanks, and whatever else.

Not sure why were so focused on a porn tape. The past. Do you want me to admit it may have played a part into where she is today? Yes, maybe.

But again the other analogy is Paris Hilton, who also had a porn tape and reality tv show.

Despite a porn tape or Kanye’s privates leaking on the internet, it doesn’t change the fact Kanye has to pay child support and be present in his children’s lives.
 
Kim's "dad" Bob Kardashian was a huuuuuge lawyer before he died pretty young (59), and that family had big money well before Ray J entered their world. She was always going to be a big deal, she was literally following Paris Hilton's lead.

Bruce Jenner was probably one of the most well-known athletes in the world in the 70s. Back then the decathalon was the biggest event of the Olympics, and winning it meant you were "the greatest athlete in the world." This was a mega family made for 21st century social media/cable tv stardom from the start. Honstly, how Kanye found his way into it I'll never be able to figure it out, but it really did not help him, IMO. I think his art, business and mental state would probably have been in a better place if he fell in with a different woman and never even met any of the K girls.

Maybe? Were you around in 2007? That's literally what got people talking about her on another level. She was just Paris Hilton's friend/stylist before that. Maybe some mention of Robert Kardashian/OJ/etc.

I don't even know why this is a debate. Just google what made Kim Kardashian famous and 99% will mention the sex tape as the spark.

Yeah, before her and Paris' (2001) tapes Pam Anderson (1995) was like the only real "star" who had a tape come out like that. And all three were B/C list celebs without a lot of actual talent who became public superstars because of them. These things were huge deals back then.
 
Exactly. Kim was/is just a better business woman and knew how to capitalize, with a lot of help from social media coming into existence.
 
Kanye west is exceptional at having people discuss him non-stop. It’s been that way his whole career.

I don’t remember what year the tape dropped. But if it was 2007, then she extended her 15 minutes into 15 years of success.

Longevity is part luck, hustle, and savvy. You say she’s a good business woman. Why do we keep focusing on a porn tape lol. It’s like she did a crime.

I am a Huge Wolverines fan as well as a Buckeyes fan. I have so many teams that I root for and you never know who I really support until da clock strikes 0 and the winner is decided.
 
As far as Kanye paying child support, do we know what their custody looks like? Does Kim have full custody? Because if it’s split, with Kim being worth more than Kanye, it wouldn’t make sense for him to pay her so much. Maybe the laws in CA are different.

(Spoken from someone who currently pays child support and we are 50/50
With custody, it’s all income based as well as factors such as who covers the child’s health care , etc. I have always covered the healthcare and still ended up being ordered to pay 200 a month when all the other factors came into play)

Details. 50/50. Like Rusty said, there are probably a few factors that contributed to that outcome.

I cover my daughters health care and still pay child support. I’m sure locality also comes into play.
 
This story is bigger than Kanye, who is a moron and willingly chose to marry this broad even AFTER she played Kris Humphries like that.

I have no issue with Men supporting the needs of the child, but no person can convince me 5 kids or whatever they have need 2.5M per year to be raised. Currently the laws seem to include the needs/wants of the spouse not the needs of the children.

Why does someone who arguably is worse off financially than his ex need to pay money to support those kids? Seems to me there should have been no child support awarded in this scenario at all.

Surely a parent should provide their children more than just basic needs…

I imagine 24/7 security, private school, etc. adds up. I actually thought he’d be ordered to pay more. He was ordered to pay less in child support than Nas has to per child.
