Kanye West: King of the Sunken Place, "Watch the Throne"

This has been the Kanye/Kyrie thread.

This convo branched into who is allowed to identify as being Jewish.

Amare's post touched on that.

Lobby had to apologize for a tweet about Jewish money and fly across the country to meet with Rabbits. He don't want any conflict.

Van Lathan: Hulk Hogan Should've Had to Do 2 Weeks with Dr Umar After Racist Talk (Part 10) - YouTube

"black people haven't hurt America enough. "

. Agree with all he said.

@ 1:15

So whole time the "dark skinned savages" chasing down and roasting white folks in racist old TV shows / cartoons actually came from white skinned savages chasing down and roasting dark skinned folks in real life?

Sheesh!

Power = Community

A community is nothing more than a group of families with shared goals and values.

As long as the nuclear Black family is broken, so shall be any hope for community or power (as it should be).

Ultimately its on us as Black men TBH but this is probably a better conversation for the Umar thread

Are you talking about his pay due to games missed due to the vaccine or the recent situation with Jewish people?
Both. They’ve thrown out the vaccine mandate and people are able to sue and get their jobs back.

I think it’s weird to cape for his pay to be docked. I am not the one who has to pay him so it’s not really any of my business. But you surely agree that it was fair for the Nets to not pay him, right?

I come in peace btw - I’m not trying to argue, just interested in hearing the opinion of someone who might have a different view than mine.

For years, Kyrie has historically donated tons of money to black people. Purchased homes for people, paid for education etc. In both cases, they've unjustly docked his pay.

So while I absolutely commend Kyrie for all that he has donated to black people, I guess where we diverge is that I don’t see how his employer withholding his pay was unjust in either scenario. Not to simplify the matter but last year he was unable to perform his job because he refused the vaccine and this year he was suspended (I believe by the league) and I believe that in most cases players forfeit those wages. If anything, the wages were sacrifices for him standing on his beliefs but he had to know that was coming and again not to minimize his sacrifice but the folks he is helping or anyone in America would have had their pay withheld, if they weren’t terminated, in either scenario.

Now if you are saying that terminating or withholding pay from someone in general for someone refusing to get the vaccine or “disrupting business” with personal beliefs is problematic then that is one thing. However, I don’t think anyone or Kyrie himself should have expected him to get a pass on that.

NYC allowed visiting non-vaccinated players to play but punished the home team players. They also allowed nonvaccinated fans to come into the arena. It made no sense. Now, courts have ruled it was unconstitutional. The league itself found the city's policy to be conflicting. They should return the wages that they took from him due to the findings and the conflicts within the ordinance.

EYE didn’t have an issue with Kyrie losing out on money due to the vaccine stuff. He chose not to play games, he ain get paid. Pretty simple.

The other reasons????

Didn’t agree with that at all.

He didn't choose to not play games. The ordinance did not allow him to play but allowed a ton of other nonvaccinated players to come there and play. If it blocked people from not playing overall because of their vax status until the appeals worked their way through the courts, then I wouldn't have an issue with it. However, to say one can and one can't, then the law is broken. Give that man back his money. Especially since the courts ruled it was unconstitutional.

Okay, I was not aware of the full scope of your grievance regarding the matter. I guess I will say that initially if they found it conflicting, they chose to err on the side of the intent of the law - NYC employees need to be vaccinated to work in NYC. I was unaware of the court ruling that deemed the entire mandate to be unconstitutional. I would contend that he would have right to that money but here is the question I would ask: will all affected employees get their money back or do you think it should up to the discretion of the employer?

This a truly unique scenario due to the nature of professional sports and traveling. I mean I guess there could have been instances of numerous corporations in NYC where the NYC employees had to be vaccinated but folks from other offices came in and were not. In that case though it is more likely the company had a mandate that everyone get it but there was probably extra scrutiny on the NYC folks.

It’s a pretty complicated matter with more gray than black and white IMO. I definitely see arguments for both sides. Thanks for the information you provided too, I had no idea about the court ruling which definitely changes my thoughts on the subject. Always learn something when talking with you :nthat:

I be getting a heart attack everytime this thread gets bumped thinking Kanye said some other cooo cooo ****
