Kanye West: King of the Sunken Place, "Watch the Throne"

Okay, I was not aware of the full scope of your grievance regarding the matter. I guess I will say that initially if they found it conflicting, they chose to err on the side of the intent of the law - NYC employees need to be vaccinated to work in NYC. I was unaware of the court ruling that deemed the entire mandate to be unconstitutional. I would contend that he would have right to that money but here is the question I would ask: will all affected employees get their money back or do you think it should up to the discretion of the employer?

This a truly unique scenario due to the nature of professional sports and traveling. I mean I guess there could have been instances of numerous corporations in NYC where the NYC employees had to be vaccinated but folks from other offices came in and were not. In that case though it is more likely the company had a mandate that everyone get it but there was probably extra scrutiny on the NYC folks.

It’s a pretty complicated matter with more gray than black and white IMO. I definitely see arguments for both sides. Thanks for the information you provided too, I had no idea about the court ruling which definitely changes my thoughts on the subject. Always learn something when talking with you :nthat:
Yeah, it was hypocritical. Some city workers were fired where others were allowed to work. They had to reinstate a lot of workers and give them back pay. Just an entire mess.

Half a billion American dollars?!?!? :wow: :wow: Since they cut ties can they not legally sell it or did it mean that they can sell previous units that were already made but can’t make/release new ones? Just trying to determine how ****** they may or may not be

Turn this into a positive. They should just donate them to less fortunate countries. Some children don’t even have shoes to wear. My mom grew up like that with having 7 older siblings.

That would be the most noble thing to do but again I wonder the legality of such a move.

The thought of unknown villages in foreign parts of the world being dripped out in free Ye gear from head to toe that American hypebeasts paid multiple times MSRP for after waiting in line for days has me weak.

Send them to Ross so I can buy and resell online.

This makes no sense, man and you sound greedy.

Thats what it sounds like.

"black people haven't hurt America enough. "

. Agree with all he said.

Both of y'all have your blinders on tight. How many white folks continue to face job losses for acting a fool on/off camera? Remember when Jay-Z told Black America to move past Kaep? Y'all still watching the games, buying the jerseys, and listening to his music, aren't you?

The "Me Too" movement succeeded not because women burnt down strip clubs and beat down cat callers, but because their numbers in the legal field grew, and they used their positions as judges, lawyers, and elected officials to pass laws that made it difficult to ignore sexual harassment and sexual assault. Up until 30 years ago, they were told to shut up lest they lost their job. Women didn't go on a ***** strike; they didn't go on a pregnancy strike. They integrated the socioeconomic structures and changed them.

Most importantly, they didn't allow space for SA apologists at the ground level the way some people continue to apologize for Mr West.

Time to copy and paste the method.

Won't be the first time.

I remember seeing schoolmates with the adidas Kobe III when I was in high school. It's only a few years ago that I learned the shoe never officially dropped because adidas and Kobe had parted ways by the time the shoe was already in production.

If they had to choose between Adidas sending Ye gear to a country of folks in need of clothing and shoes or them sending it to Ross so I can maybe cop and re-sell, I will gladly fall asleep knowing that lil Michael has some 350 Boosts to walk around his village in instead of being barefoot.

Damn this is another fun fact! I had no idea just like they probably had no idea they were sitting on a gold mine

Yep.

We' d get a lot of shoes that turned out to be outlet fodder/samples when they originally dropped like most foams, flightposites (especially the second and third), zoom turbines, GPs, shox... Prestos and all its variations were particularly popular, along with And1 (not the Walmart joints though).

Interestingly enough, Nordstrom Rack used to carry a lot of samples and Asia exclusives up until a decade ago.

Here's the thing though: lil Michael still won't have 350s on his feet because shoe sellers in poor countries know what those shoes are, and there's a market for them among the upper-middle class/rich kids. So what happens is, those shoes get down there, and they get marked up and sold at MSRP or more.

When I was in HS (20 years ago), dudes would spend the equivalent of $200-$300 in local currency on foams when the US MSRP at the time was $180. And most of those joints were not new.

Dropping knowledge :nthat: But damn bruh that second part was depressing |l So would Adidas have to send out a team personally to distribute the shoes to those in need directly? Or would that somehow get cut off/intercepted by the shoe sellers. Not sure where you are from but I am really surprised that folks willing to pay those marked up prices as a starting point when folks over here already complain about the MSRPs

That's the best way to make sure they end up where adidas wants them to go

Yes 😂, especially after word got around that adidas was delivering $100k worth of shoes in some remote villages. Local resellers would just travel there, offer the locals money in exchange for the shoes, clean them up, and sell them in the big cities.

Like I said, people know what those things are, especially today with the ubiquitousness of cellphones and information. Most just don't have the money to buy them.

BTW, take a look at this report. It's about donated clothes and how most of them end up in African marketplaces.

Not sure where you are from
Cameroon. Grew up in Yaounde.

You should read up on "les sapeurs." 😂 Lots of people in Africa willing to spend big on clothing.

Damn, my man is dropping KNOWLEDGE on a Saturday. On Christmas Eve nonetheless! No days off! Thank you for sharing those links, I’m definitely going to check them out. My mom sends a lot of stuff back home and it always gets there. But to your point about the intercepting she also does business out there and it pisses me off because she sends money and in my head I just think “conducting international business in places like that when you’re not able to physically be there just doesn’t make sense” due to the corruption and overall geometry behavior like you mentioned.

Thoughts on this idea?

(Not mY thoughts)

Adidas needs to just sell the inventory, cut Ye his check, and move on. They made the separation public. We know the deal. Rebranding won’t change what we ALREADY know. Also, I’m 50/50 on if 350’s will sell out at the asking price. If they do, I’m not surprised. If they don’t, they need to cut the price. $230 for a knit shoe was crazy anyway. No Ye support, it’s just a high *** adidas knit shoe.

They better have a mean recampaign, seeding campaign.

Is this an option assuming Ye’s most recent psychotic break doesn’t prevent him from signing the deal? It so then obviously this is the path of least resistance and best way to avoid losses. I assumed something like that wasn’t possible considering the article said they were “stuck” with the half a billion in inventory.

Merry Christmas Kanye Thread, I hope next year Ross issued YE clothing is under your tree.

Not for me though, imma donate it to the Phillipines.

Why is this a story?

They already said they will continue to sell the sneakers without him. It's literally nothing Yeezy about them besides the insole and boxes, which are the least expensive parts of the sneakers besides the laces.

A lot of people are literally saying, they just bought them for the name and because they were hard to get.

They've done it and continue to do it with Kobe. Are people complaining about them selling Crazy 1's and 8's?

and Nike has done it with Deion, Andre Agassi, CWebb.

I'm confused, because I expect better conversations on a sneaker board.
