MAX | Out Now |

Pretty much done with first episode and something is off about this show. Doesn't feel like something from HBO at all.
Really?

The whole British angle just screamed HBO to me.

Show probably not gonna last with Joss having to leave the show and HBO anyway.

I found it to be well written and acted. Some interesting characters and a little mystery. For a show that's basically 19th century white women get super powers.

Honestly I felt like they were pandering quite a bit and the show itself seems to be all over the place. Even the effects in the first episode didn't scream high end like I'm used to with HBO shows.

I felt like I was watching something produced by TBS/USA etc.

This is the same network that gave me dragons and Westworld. I just expect higher quality.

HBO is notorious for playing favorites with their more popular shows or shows they think will be popular or shows they are invested in when it comes to budget. So nothing about the cgi or etc bothered me.

You should really check all them other HBO shows during the GoT period :lol

Story didn't really seem all over the place to me. If anything I initially thought it could be a spinoff for His Dark Materials.

I watched the first 2 episodes last weekend. I couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll try again.

I read the premise and it looked interesting so I added it to the list but Zik’s review isn’t promising. I saw the last few episodes come out on the 15th so I’ll wait until the weekend to watch it all.

It's not a bad show at all. Its just a comedy not full on sci-fi.

From the trailer I thought it'd be more like a Black Mirror episode just as a series. Its just more of a comedy about this obsessive weirdo genius and his wife he wants to control with her wanting her freedom not a sprawling conspiracy.

I'm on episode 5.

The Tina doc was pretty interesting. I wish it wasn't self produced though.

She was a little before my time, but it's sort of crazy how she resurrected her career in her 40's. I have to salute her and give her a bunch of respect for that.

These mutha****as really just made Downton Abbey meets Penny Dreadful meets The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen meets X-Men. AT&T can’t have Marvel so they’ll just make some Marvel ****.

Watched Mare of Easttown. Man. Pulled me and the wife right in.

Mix of True Detective, Sharp Objects, The Killing, and that Netflix doc Roll Red Roll.

Kate Winslet can act her *** off. Solid cast. The setting itself is a character.

HBO keeps hitting it out the park.
