Michael Vick is the best player in the league right now.

Mike Vick has not lost one game where he has played the whole game!!

Not turned the ball over on a fumble or an int at all... rushing on big plays, accurate and making things happen... This dude is MVP!!

But since he wanna get cute with stats and skew them to his liking:

11 passing TDs/0 INTs > 19 passing TDs/8 INTs
115 QB rating > 102 QB rating
4 rushing TDs > 0 rushing TDs
1 fumble > 3 fumbles
4-2 record in games played (including the loss to ********) > 4-5 record

Now you tell me, if you didn't know whose stats those belonged to, that you wouldn't take the first player over the second...AT THIS POINT IN TIME.  If you take the second player over the first, you're a damn idiot.

yeah #s are there for both, good job. and u can skew them to your likingto by leaving out the fact that rivers has 2Xs more attempts and  stillhas higher percentages

with that statement, even you are saying that its possible.  and we were talking about the MVP, not the chargers winning the division......

and as for malta over there, knowing what vick has around him as far as weapons are concerned and knowing what rivers has around him isnt it safe to say that rivers is doing way more with way less?  rivers is completing a higher % of passes with trash WRs AND has double the pass attempts than vick..  So yes.......as of this point  rivers > vick.
Shut yo +%! up.

Rivers is not winning the MVP when his team is the 3rd best team in the division.

Nice to know that rooting for the Eagles will be fun for some time to come. My son looking like those 3 years is just pure rest. Moving like he in his prime. Now he passing better.

I sure hope Vick can keep this up, stay healthy, and prove doubters wrong. It's been fun watching speed and accuracy kill opposing defenses.

How the hell can dudes sit up here and say Rivers > Vick when the Chargers are 4-5.
laugh.gif
That team should be at least 7-2 if you're gonna sit up here and compare a QB who has played all 9 games to another who has only played 4...which goes even more in Vick's favor considering he's done more in less time, with no INT's, running TD's, passing TD's, and a 4-0 mark when he starts and completes the game....

....and if Rivers has a higher completion percentage...so what!! Screen passes and safe hitch routes here and there do wonders for any QB's completion percentage...all the Chargers rely on is the pass..so Rivers should be forcing passes up field to try and get some points. Some of ya'll tell good jokes.

Are we really going by team record when comparing Quarterbacks?

...REALLY?

so what!! Screen passes and safe hitch routes here and there do wonders for any QB's completion percentage

No offense but Rivers is not only throwing screen passes like Romo, guy is playing as any quarterback in the league this year and he has an injured team.

Nah....... Not many League MVPs miss the playoffs and finish 11th in the Conference.
thats cute, you counted the teams and looked at where the chargers are at right now. They are also 2 wins away from being 3rd in the conference so how worthless is that?

Vicks best game this year of 333 yards which is also Rivers average throughout the year so far.  If comparing the two for who's more valuable, that weighs much more than looking at standings when only 3 games separate 1st from11th.  Comming down the stretch in the AFC, does anyone really think Jason Campbell or Matt Cassel is capable of leading their team to a division championship?  The west is smelly garbage and SD just happens to have the weakest stench of the 4.  SD missing the playoffs?...not happening.

btw, Washington has the 2nd worst passing defense on all of the NFL

all aside, we will see in 7 weeks where everyone stands
You are not getting the MVP if your team isn't winning, point blank. Right now they are behind Oakland and Kansas City, and they lost to both. Rivers SHOULD get the offensive player of the year, but MVP talks belong to Vick, Brady, and Manning right now. Not to discredit Rivers, he's been amazing this year with garbage, but team success does factor into the MVP.

And Campbell and Cassel don't have to lead their teams. The Raiders are lead by McFadden and Bush and the Chiefs are lead by Charles and Jones.
These arguments will merit no solutions until the end of the season. Someone is going to have to grave dig this thread when its over.

Same can be said for Peyton Manning whose team has been injury riddled...or Tom Brady who has thrown to no name wr's to get his team to 7-2...ironically, both players teams are actually winning.

Go watch the touchdown passes to Ajirotutu last sunday. Ajiro-what?

No way is rivers averaging 330 yards per game by throwing screen passes and safe hitch routes

i see what you mean and i do like vick AND rivers, (as well as brady, AR, and AP) we just cant have these skewed arguments here. And im not ignoring anything vick did last night. That is MVP worthy.
