What is the general consensus on Steph not winning the 2015 FMVP? Man averaged 26/5/6 with 1.8 steals on 44/39/89 splits to Iggy’s 16/5/4 with 1.3 steals on 52/40/35 splits. I mean, I can appreciate the defensive effort on Bron but he still averaged 36/13/9  . That one’s a lil fishy IMO

What was bron numbers when iggy was guarding him? Pretty sure it was trash af

They were down 2-1 when Iggy was inserted into the starting lineup in game 4. Changed the whole dynamic to that series, his defense on Bron was spectacular.

When Iguodala was in the game, LeBron James shot 38.1 percent from the field, scoring 26 points per 36 minutes with 2.9 turnovers. With Iguodala on the bench, James shot 44 percent, averaging 35 points per 36 minutes with 2.2 turnovers. With Iguodala as the primary defender, opponents shot 37.2 percent overall, and he gave up free throws the same percentage of time (10.8 percent) that he forced a turnover, via Synergy Sports. Those are steller defensive numbers.

My gawd the yams

Curry lost the finals mvp in game 2 after this

He still won mvp and a ring in the same season still a great accomplishment

The fact that lebron received 4 votes proves that award is a complete joke.

He was inefficient from the field and they lost 3 straight after being up 2-1.

The fact that Delly dropped 20 points on him in the following game (still a career high for him, regular season or playoffs), didn't help either.

I'm hoping he wins FMVP this year. His entire legacy would be ruined if he finishes his career without one. The only players who are considered top 10 who don't have at least 2 Finals MVPs are the ones from the time when the award didn't exist.

Kobe had 2011 vs. Mavs moments the whole series against the pistons in 04.

There is no doubt that both Kobe in 2004 and LeBron in 2011 had poor finals performances.

However, there is one major difference between those two finals performances:
Take a role player from the 2004 Lakers, for example Derek Fisher, and put him in Kobe's place and take a role player from the 2011 Heat, for example Mike Miller, and put him in LeBron's place:

If Derek Fisher averaged:
22.6 points on 22.6 shots and .381 shooting, while taking nearly 6 more shots per game than Shaq who averaged 26.6 points on 16.8 shots and .631 shooting (actually a higher FG% than in any of his 3 amazing Finals MVP performances from the Lakers 3-peat)
2.8 rebounds
4.4 assists

during the 2004 finals, would people be saying that Derek Fisher had a good finals series?

Now if Mike Miller averaged:
17.8 points on .478 shooting
7.2 rebounds
6.8 assists

during the 2011 finals while not being a difference maker in 4th quarters, being outplayed by Wade and everything else bad you can say about LeBron's 2011 finals performance, would people be saying that Mike Miller had a poor finals series?

No.

About Mike Miller, yes they would say he had a good series. But you gotta remember stats don't tell all.

So now Kawhi has a left knee injury? Y'all think it's worth it for them to continue to play him 40+ minutes a game?

One can make an easy argument that things changed once bogut was removed from the line Up
