New York State just became a Revolver town thanks to Cuomo VOL. super gun restriction passed.

I'm not sure what Obama has to do with New York passing a gun law, but whatever you say buddy.
Over your head apparently when folks start grabbing guns and defending their right to bear arms expect this to be remembered as Baracks fault by the history books .

Romney had a stricter gun policy :lol

Bottom line is it's foolish. Full auto weapons are already banned.

Decrease from 10 round clips to 7? All that means is a potential murderer needs more clips. Dude from Columbine had 14 magazines I believe.

Two "assault rifle features" :lol And conveniently, cities with the strictest gun laws (NYC, Chi, DC, etc.) have the most gun violence. Country folk holdin.

I'm in VA so we still good money :hat I can go cop something tomorrow long as I have no felonies. But these rednecks been buying up guns and ammo like crazy ever since Sandy Hook.

You're lucky but you better believe if people from NoVA were able to control the legislature, the state would turn into their neighbor to the North, all tax everything...

Meanwhile in the Good old People's Republic of Murrland...

"Perhaps most controversially, O’Malley (D) will ask the General Assembly to force prospective gun owners to provide fingerprints to state police, complete a hands-on weapon-familiarization and gun-safety course, and undergo a background check to be licensed."

I can understand the course, and of course the background check, but fingerprints...

"Other lawmakers went further. Del. Jon S. Cardin (D-Baltimore County), another expected candidate for attorney general, said Monday that he will introduce legislation that imposes a 50 percent excise tax on ammunition and adds a $25 annual gun registration fee. "

Oh no gun owners are forced to be responsible with their guns.....

This is always a lose-lose no matter what happens no one will ever admit gun laws work. Murder rates will drop, and there will be no mass shootings in NY for the next 3 years but stabbings will increase and you will have idiots out here like well if we had guns we wouldn't have stabbings. One person will get shot with an automatic rifle and everyone will jump to conclusions that the ban isn't working its hurting people. Or NY population grows and people will complain guns were a good population controller for the NY area or some non-sense.

If you are a responsible adult you can still get a gun if you want one.

Is it that serious?

Do people really need heat like that? You must be living foul if you're worried about staying strapped.

Lived in NYC all my life...don't mind these restrictions at all. As someone said before, criminals will aquire these types of guns/clips no matter what so all this is doing is changing the rules for "regular" civilians, which is fine by me. Untrained civilians do not need high powered assault rifles...and no, training is not going to the "range" or the time you took that 1/2 an hr class with that instructor from that place. Also, i'm good on your mentally unstable nephew stealing your gun while you're asleep and taking it into the world.

dudes minipulate a tragedy for their own politcal gain and people fall for it

people are still going to get shot

when are people going to take their head out of the sand and realize most gun violence is NOT commited by people who are law abiding citizens in the first place dudes sellin dope are still gonna be strapped up hot heads are still gonna let their gun off instead of taking an *** whippin

I do think regulations can be good as there really is no practical use for an assault rifle but to pretend like these laws will stop gun violence is a joke

how bout we dig deeper and try and fix the structure of our inner cities first

Murder shouldn't be illegal because only criminals murder! Law abiding citizens don't murder only kill.

This is fine with me. Good balance between 2nd amendment and a need for safety

But this does nothing to help Obama. They don't care what us city slickers have to say in gun country.

You want one of those AK's floating around? Have fun in prison. Legal gun owners can still shoot and protect their property and fam. I couldn't care less that you will be annoyed with loading more at a gun range. Sry.

Nobody is banning guns. There is no confiscation.

is Texas the state with the most guns per capita? is there a correlation between guns per capital and the number of mass shootings? shouldnt we looks at that before passing more draconian laws?

it seems (legal) gun ownership doesn't usually equate to the number of gun deaths.

For example, according to this graph, Washington, DC has the most deaths by firearms, BUT according to this list, WAshington, DC is DEAD LAST as far as "NICS background checks per 100,000 residents" (think legal gun ownership).

So what that tells me right off the bat is that Washington, DC has the most gun deaths, BUT the least number of legally owned firearms. Does that mean these guns are illegal? Is Washington, DC more violent in general? Would stricter gun laws in DC even help if people are being killed with illegal guns?

What about us repsonsible gunowners who keep "da musket" locked up in a safe and only use it at the range?

I like the way they passes this bill at midnight while every body is sleeping.

Im sure these guys had the publics best interests at heart.

Coming from the conspiracy theorist who thinks that "the white man, is going out of his way, trying to hold him down." Hypocrisy well taken.

Law abiding NY citizens take the L on this one.
It's not a conspiracy if it's the truth champ, not try though.  Also, if your going to quote me, at least quote me correct, and don't make up your own statements just because.

Days after calling for an overhaul of gun control in New York following the Connecticut school shooting, Gov. Andrew Cuomo worked out a tough proposal on gun control with legislative leaders who promised to pass the most restrictive gun law in the nation.
This is the biggest problem I have with all of this gun restriction propaganda that's being initiated now that something like the Newtown Connecticut school shooting has happen.I'm not asking a hard question that requires along complex explanation,it's simple:Where was all of this momentum to act and actually do something, twenty, ten, five years ago, even right now in Chicago where certain people are victim's of shootings daily and are basically being held hostage in their own communities do to gun violence?.Don't these people count?what goes on and what happens to them, does it matter?.Death isn't something new,it's also nothing that should be played with either but I would hate to think that there's a value placed on certain demographic's death over any other's because death,is death and the only thing worse than that is a violent death.
I pray it's not what it seem's but I know it's going to take much more than a prayer for this madness.

I'm no big fan of guns nor am I against the idea of people owning them either because as long as he has one,she has one and they have em,I'm going to always be in arms reach of a fire-arm,legal or illegal, forever. But the state of Newyork banning something like AK47's and other assault rifles is a joke because no criminal that I know of ist walking around with no such arms because you can't conceal it easily. These law's are only going to make the upstate-Newyork backwoods, hunting types upset and not because they actually own an assault weapon but just the idea of the government telling them you can't own it and if you do,this is what has to be done for you to be able to own it.Extended clip's and only allowing a so many bullet's to be loaded into a gun at a time?what? and all they get charged with is a misdemeanor?.They also want the public to report anyone who is in possession of a large cache of arms?lol these people in upstate-Newyork are going to have a field day with that, espacially around hunting season and with feuding neighbor's.

This is going to turn into one big-mess of straight up ******** but be warned black & brown dude's who are about that life, you get caught with it you'er probably going to spend more time in prison than you would if you would have actually murdered someone.Pepper spray, knives and sling-shot's.......

Hmmm. I wonder where geographically the new legislation will be most vigorously enforced and which demographics will be most affected by the increased police vigilance? I think we need look no further than the drug laws to figure that answer out.

Coldest

The harsh honest truth is that is not in the governments best interest to care or take action with inner city murders. With the privatisation of prisons is not profitable to take care of this issue they make more money with people locked up. The only reason they are going after gun owners because these mass shootings are taking place in their backyards and little white kids have more value than ms.johnson and her kid getting shot in this country.

Its a right to have "heat like that".  I'm not worried about having it on me.  I'm worried about maintaining my right to defend myself effectively.

I'm not going to defend myself against criminals with a bolt-action rifle, pump shotguns with low capacity, or gimped 5 round semi-autos.
