Knowing some random person who works at Cap City and finding someone at Nike who has the power to produce SMU pairs is not the same. What I think a lot of you guys fail to realize is that just because you work on campus does not mean you can get and do whatever you want.

Also as far as every entertainer in the 2000’s having custom AF1 you are way off. Only the biggest of big artists (Rocafella, Nelly, Eminem) and Fat Joe had that type of hookup and those all came as Nike gifts and not at the request of any of them. The Nike execs hated NT and collectors back then. The thought of working with a forum whose members leak info, bad mouth product and acquire samples was not possible.

$C sold their sole to Nike and in return Nike then made some wack id’s to sell at the shoe comps that were all held at Nike locations. They did not make them pairs just to be cool or show love they basically were in business with $C. Take a look at some of the issues of $C magazine that were nothing more then Nike/Jordan billboards.

So with that said would y’all really want a NT collab if it meant that Nike had control over the content on this forum?

Yeah, that's exactly what's being discussed. When we attempted coordinated, bicoastal shipping on NT gear last year, all West Coast orders were fulfilled by our partners at Community Hired. There are good storefront tools we can use to ensure that the ordering process will be smooth, and taking a more direct approach would give us maximum control over each product and release we offer.

I'm glad to hear that there's support for this idea. We'll definitely have more to share in the months ahead. Response to the leftover NKETLK Alpha tees was so strong that we will do a new, modern run of those on fair trade, organic cotton shirts with non-toxic, water based inks.

It's almost like it was run by volunteers, and the staff composition has changed over twenty years.

Speaking of consistency:

every korean owned mom & pop shop that i know has da ability to make custom new era fitteds/cap....da homie that used to post here and used to work & capcity set that up for ya, which brings me to my next point....

So New Era collaborations are "easy" to do, but we were "lucky" to do them - and a product collaboration with Nike, which no sane person believes is an easy thing to do and could only be further complicated by our site name, should've been done long ago - and is available to any "two bit operation?"

The only consistency in your positions is that you'll consistently express the most negative, insulting opinion of our staff. They don't even have to make sense in tandem, as is the case with your contradictory views about our collaborations to date.

If you fancy yourself such an "influencer", you should have little difficulty securing New Era and Nike products of your own.
Try not to bring up NikeTalk when explaining to them why you're so important.

Our staff doesn't share that same feeling of entitlement, so we've never expected a product collaboration with Nike, nor have we asked.

naw, you gotta understand, ish like a yelp rating..da negative always gonna get more attention... overall im gucci, but its things that could easily be nipped in da bud constantly being ignored by da adminstration that powers users and its most active members (i.e. me) beeeeeeeeeen zeroed in on
that could be addressed, most of its ain't mechanical, but
simple things that would behoove da long term longevity of NT.

-mega official threads that swallow new info

-TAN threads destroying da traffic flow on major sections (peep music and nike retro for example)

-buy & sell is a joke

-no kinda consistency to bigcartel/overall apparel

da lack of collabs in IMO folks here just sittin on their hands instead of being proactive in making something like that happen.

da NT fitted happened because we BUGGGED DA **** outta ol boy from Capcity who basically opened da door on new era custom logo policy info and suggested anything could be made with a minimum piece order and a couple months lead time.

i just explained it to you...its easy to get custom new era caps done if you actually got someone with access to a new era account, and ya lucky ya just happened to have a NTer who just happened to be a perfect conduit at da right place at da right time...and it didn't happen by osmosis, we kneaded homie all da time in da fitted thread.

Im not sure if you are not reading previous responses or what, but you are absolutely clueless.

Kanye himself complained that he could not get what he wanted from Nike including pairs of his own shoe!

Also it’s already been discussed that those “insiders” have not been run off, but to think that any of those people had the ability to ask for this kind of solid just shows how little people know about how things work.

You just made my point. If Kanye West could not get pairs of his own sneaker allocated for his people how the hell do you expect anyone else to be able to get a custom pair made?

Lets not forget that any favor called in by anyone to have anything made without going through the proper channels could be charged with a crime by Nike.
