^^^ That's awesome...good to see that along with the AA-12 that shotguns are starting to evolve somewhat. It looks quite ergonomic and modern without being too strange.

FN-Five Seven shoots a small but highly penetrative round which is the 5.7mm, which is also used in the FN P90 personal defense submachine gun. If I'm not mistaken the mag for the Five Seven holds 20 rounds...which is a lot for a handgun. You can also get some pretty good range out of the 5.7 cartridge which for a handgun is a bonus of sorts.
The main reason for the Five Seven pistol was to be a companion weapon for the FN P90 since they share the same ammunition. BTW the 5.7 cartridge is WELL known for being to penetrate body armor. So the gun itself tends to get a bad rap.
The FS-2000 is chambered in 5.56 NATO/ .223 SAAMI , which is the standard ammo for the M-16/AR-15/M-4 family. It is just another more futuristic version of the modern assault rifle. The bullpup design means overall shorter length since the receiver is located rear of the the handgrip/trigger assembly. It's a nice starship trooper type weapon. Cool collectors piece and conversation piece, but I personally wouldn't buy one. That's just my opinion though...I'd go with the FN-SCAR either Light or Heavy instead.

On another note for all my AR-15 fans I have some good news. Y'all all know about the SBR's (short barrel rifles with barrel length under 16" which are hard to get because they require an ATF tax stamp)...well there is an LEGAL alternative...the AR-15 Pistol. These are not new but before since they used the direct impingement gas system they had that ugly buffer tube that stuck out the back (there are a few exceptions like the Olympic Arms Gas operated AR pistol). Now Rock River Arms created an AR pistol that uses the piston system. It can be registered as a pistol which means ultimately it can be legally concealed if you have a CCW. I'm seriously thinking about getting one and putting an EOTECH on top of it. Below is the pictures for it. Only $1399.

One thing I will not do is lie to get props/e-props. Never killed anybody, but have been trained by some of the best if not best triggermen in the world. I'm on the "brains" side of the equation, not the muscle side...though we have to go out sometimes to the warzone to do our thing. When I'm out there I feel safe knowing I have them around me though...true professionals. You'd be surprised to know how many different entities there are supporting the war effort that are not the US military.

i have a shot gun. to be honest with you guys don't know the name or model of it. my bro in law gave it to me. he used to go back packing back east and bought it cause of some black bears he encountered. i will post pics up later to see if its a good pc.
but my question to the aficionados what gun is good to have for home protection. don't want to kill the intruder but i really want to hurt his tail.

Whats everyone's opinion on the remington 870p max? Im thinking about purchasing one but im having a hard time justifying $900+ for a shotgun

If I'm spending $900+ on a shotgun it'll be for a FN SLP

I agree with eteam. There isn't much anyone can say bad about a Remington 870...but it may be better for you to buy the base model and then add on to it. I do like the Ghost Ring sights on the Max though, they are great on shotguns if you are planning on shooting it out to some distance.

Just use birdshot low power shells instead of 00 Buck. Or you can use rock salt shotgun shells instead. The shotgun is still considered the best home defense firearm, so at least you are on the right path.

That's a nice AR...a lot of good quality options for AR's these days. Prices are starting to come down too after the panic from President Obama getting elected.

I have only shot a rented Springfield XD at the range...but I liked it from my brief experience, nice natural grip angle and decently accurate even the beat up rental unit I shot...it is considered one of the top polymer handguns along with Glock and M&P. Good choice...give us an update once you throw a few rounds downrange.

Will do ... I have completed the first stage of my little collection with this purchase ... I was going for variety and a strong base at first and will step up my assault rifle purchases in the future ... As of right now I have the following:
Browning pump shotgun 12 gauge all black
Remington 700 .270 two tone black/brushed steel
Ruger .22 Long Rifle with an Archangel tactical kit and el cheapo red dot scope
In 10 days I'll add the XDm to the bunch and President's day weekend I have a trip planned to my family's hunting camp ... I will definitely take pictures of all the action for this thread ...
EWD, do you think a Viridian laser would be too much for the XDm? It looks the part, but don't know if dropping $250 on a laser is worth it considering all I'm getting it for is to "have it" lol ...

Its a great gun. I have the XDM .40 16+1 that I use for conceal carry buts its too big and I'm going to downgrade to the 9mm sub-compact XDM.

Without googling it, aren't Viridians the green lasers? If so they show up really good in the daylight, at least a lot better than the red lasers. If money isn't an issue which I doubt in your case then by all means I'd get it. Of course lasers help with target acquisition and accurate fire, but they are underrated as a training tool. You can teach yourself how to reflex shoot (shooting without aiming down the sights) using the laser. If you are interested in knowing how to do that let me know.
