For real man. I like wooster though, so I try and be rational with him.

Then seconds later I'm like, meh I'm done.

That was a foul, but the broken play that took place after that inbound pass led to a shot that was better/more open than the vast majority of game winner attempts that take place after a desgned play after a time out, which the Spurs would've had if the foul had been given. Mills had a shot that is as good as it gets in a situation like that. He just didn't make it.
But top 3 player and elite scorer, though.
Kawhi often gets a free pass because he's apparently low key and humble, and because the team he plays for is well respected. But his performance against the Clippers in games 6 and 7 last season is the reason the Spurs lost that series. It's amazing how under the radar that went:

Game 6: 12 points on 3-15 shooting

Game 7: 13 points on 5-13 shooting

If an actual superstar who is regarded as an all time great had performances like that in two straight series clinching games in a series that they ended up losing, he would straight get lynched for it by the media, fans and everyone in between.

Yep Kawhi went missing this game.

If he wants to be in the same breathe as MJ, Kobe, LeBron, Curry - he needs to show up, dominate and take over the game.  Hell he's going to have to lose a few big games as well just like MJ did trying to take over.  He'll also need to be more accountable, especially as the Big 3 ride into the sunset.  It's a steep learning curve.

He's got all the tools, athleticism, length, height and a great organization behind him.  His ceiling is very very high.

I just love the fact that he's a low key kinda guy and just does his job without all the hype and showboating.  This probably doesn't do his PR any good, but it's nice to know there are superstars who just want to play ball.  Each to their own though.

Thing with Kawhi is he can be shut down offensively by a bothersome defender.
His offense isn't nice enough to get around a pest.
He can score in rhythm, disrupt that and hope LMA doesn't get enough help from the other guys to out score you.

Notice in Pops post presser when asked by Barry

Trammel:"Thunder came out differently as one would expect, what was the difference in the way they played, especially early"
Pop: "I think it's more about how we played, they were in attack mode from jump, and our team was really Poor offensively and it fueled their transition offense"

Of course the highest score wins so I don't mean this so literal but, there is no way Spurs can sustain the offense they had in game 1, for 3 more games. We don't have the worst defense, it's simply non-existent most times though. If we can just shut one of Kawhi/LMA down, there isn't enough scoring left on Spurs roster. For a game or two, maybe, 4 though. No way.

Pop was wise enough to figure out that screening Russ every play is a hell of a plan but again, miss those shots coming off of screens and Thunder is off and running again.

Doesn't get a free pass at all. I, and several others, called him out on that piss poor ending to the Clippers series. And, by every measure, he came back this year as an improved player.

He had a stinker last night, no argument there. He's catching heat for it, just like KD after his 7/33 against DAL & his G1 performance. I don't foresee Kawhi playing that poorly 3 more times in the series, but I guess we'll find out.

We'll have to see if Aldridge can maintain his superb play, he did the same thing against HOU the first two games and kinda tailed off a bit.
 be honest, how many games in that series did you watch? Not box scores, actual games from front to back.

Shot 40% after game two that series.

The mid-range giveth, and taketh.
Shooting jumpers & posting up against Dwight & Asik is a bit more difficult than shooting jumpers & posting up against Terrence Jones.

Took Mchale 96 minutes to make that adjustment. Moved TJ to the bench, had his twin towers split time on LMA & the Rockets went 2-2. Problem is, PDX had already won two games

If he makes that adjustment after the damn 1st quarter of G1, PDX may have dropped that series.

Point being, that series is completely irrelevant to this one. If you move Adams on LMA, then you're hurting your rebounding ability. You send Serge more help, you get bludgeoned from 3.
