dude should have pumped the brakes and chilled out and watched from the sidelines.. and if he's making moves it's with little to no danger, send ravens.. go speak with the tyrells

but that doesn't make for good tv

Thing is he doesn't put himself in position to potentialy become warden of the north by chilling in the vale. He needs to make those moves.

rape on one of the most popular shows on tv. of course the media is gonna talk about it. they talked about carol killing lizzie on TWD as well.
it gives the media something to write about, it's their job to cover the show
ya really surprised ppl are up in arms??? :lol

Yup feel sorry for her all you want, I don't.

Bruh, THANK YOU

I feel like I'm the only person that can't forget how much I hated Sansa in season 1.

I sympathize with her a lil bit but for the most part when something bad happens to her I'm just like...

Oberyn's older brother: "You haven't had to use that Axe of yours in a while... I hope you still know how to use it."

It's not the media I specifically was referring to, it was the social media outrage

Again, it's not surprising, more interesting

Realtalk....this season has been trash b. The lack of Tyrion, Tywin, Joff, and the Hound has made this show boring. Nobody gives 2 ***** about no damn sand snakes, Dany's problems, or Stannis talking about attacking Winterfell.

Somebody PM me the end game of each and every character :lol srs

Agree. Since the more I've thought about it, the more I realized there have been numerous rape scenes already in GOT. Dany and Drogo in season 1. IIRC, last season, the Night's Watch deserters were showing raping Kraster's daughters. Jamie and Cersei. Its interesting to think about the reasons why Sansa's rape scene in particular, has people so up in arms.

Fake outrage. Rape is obviously a horrible act, but lets not act like what happened yesterday night isn't typical on a marriage night in the society the characters live in (and has been common even in real life until recent times). In the world the characters live in, how many marriages have you seen that were based on love versus marriages put together just for producing an heir as a power move? A huge % of men in the GOT world are disgusting people; it's a reality that the women in that world have to unfortunately put up with or be discarded/killed.

Based on what Sansa has experienced over the past few seasons, she and the viewers knew that something like this would happen, so I really don't understand how someone can be outraged at this.

Sand snakes were corny. FOH reciting the words of House Martell even though you're all bastard children. FOH telling the guards you serve Doran when you're clearly going against his orders to fall back. Your father died because he was feeling himself too much, move on, the real Martells have bigger fish to fry.

Thank you for this post!!!

Finally, someone here gets it.

People don't like rape scenes. Why is that so hard to grasp?

Especially one that seems pointless.

Unless it is the thing the makes Theon finally turn on Ramsey, that scene was pointless.

It didn't advance the plot, it did add to character development. It just seemed there to shock people

Well no one knows he significance of that scene..,and if there isn't any than these people should just stop watching.
The outrage is dumb...it's a tv show and that is def not the worst to happen. Just a bunch of ******* on Twitter with nothing else to do.

You're not supposed to like the rape scenes. You're also not supposed to act like this isn't a @#$@$@ up world that the characters live in, where the few good people always get taken advantage of or killed.

Let's also not show dudes' heads being smashed in, horses being beheaded, homosexuals being mutilated, men being castrated for fun, people being skinned alive, slaves crucifying children, babies being stabbed and thrown into the ocean, pregnant women being stabbed 20x in the womb. Let's pretend like this is a modern, civilized society where these things are rare :rolleyes

But brah isn't part of a great TV show is that it gets you emotionally invested. That's part of the fun

And there are tons of things we could tell people "just let it go". Sports, hobbies, etc.

I find the backlash against the outrage just as ridiculous as the outrage itself. :lol

If you don't like it, then stop reading blogs/forums/Twitter. Plus there are worst stuff said on the net, why are people so rustled over the outrage. Just a bunch of ******** on forums with nothing else to do but complain about other people's feelings

Using your own reasoning. Everyone is just whining

I don't see the majority of people who are angry taking this road

Seem more like you have construct a nice lil straw man to be angry at

A good number of people are though. I read the AV Club Reviews pretty frequently, and a lot of people there are writing about how they're mad at the show and "we didn't need to see/hear that, the show could have just implied it".

If I'm him.. I let the Stannis Bolton thing go down..

And if the boltons win, then you play the Sansa card.. Stannis wins you go to the tyrells and get them to side with Stannis (which they happily do with what cersei has done)

That goes back to my point of people think the scene was unnecessary. It was just there for shock value

I mean the scene really didn't accomplish anything yet. Maybe it will serves some purpose in the future and can be judge better in the future.

But as of right now. It seems pretty pointless

I mean True Detective drove on the stomach turning feeling of child molestation without ever having showing it

The producer made a creative choice people didn't like. I don't think it is unreasonable or not understandable for people to voice their displeasure

-And peep Ramsey's words to Reek, . He says something along the lines of "you seen her as a lil girl". They primed the audience to remember the young naive Sansa, then to experience her having to go through that and know that person is gone. Reek is an avatar for the viewers

It is like the writers are talking to the audience. :{ :lol I was really clever, ****** up, disturbing, but clever.
