Yes, among the 15,000+ apps in the App Store, there are several file transfer apps available, but having spent some time with
File Magic from
SplashData, available
here in the App Store for $4.99, I can report that it's easy to use and increases the functionality of your iPhone or iPod Touch. By downloading the FREE desktop app at
splashdata.com, you can transfer a myriad of file types from your desktop to your iPhone.
Why is this useful? If you are at work and want to take some files home with you or on the road to view and read, just use the handy desktop app to wirelessly transfer the files to your iPhone or iPod Touch, where they are automatically categorized. Transferring the files couldn't be easier - just use the drag-and-drop interface on the File Magic Desktop app and the files will "magically" appear on your iPhone File Magic app via your WiFi connection.
Check out the app in the App Store to learn more about it's features. Whether it's a matter of taking files with you to review on the road, using your iPhone or iPod Touch to move files from office to home, or even using the app to backup important documents,
File Magic handles it well.

No, nothing new here.
Same story we've heard off and on for almost a year now, typically from
Kevin Rose. But the internets are all a twitter about it, so for completeness' sake, here's the story again from
CrunchGear, augmented with the recent iPhone
patent grants:
Apparently video recording is mentioned frequently throughout the entire document but a few images and sections explain a video conferencing capable phone.
Yet they, like us, remain cautiously optimistic at best. After all, Apple files tons of patents, is granted quite a few, but only ever ships a very small subset.
Still… I wants it for my
iPhone HD. How about you?

[UPDATE: Erica Sadun of
Ars Technica weighs in on Crackulous, and the humor of pirating pirate software... - Rene]
Let me start out by saying none of us here at TiPb condone any type of piracy. You think you deserve to get paid at the end of the day for your work? So do developers and their hungry children.
That being said, Apple must be saying Uh-Oh right about now. Crackulous, which is now available via Cydia, enables you to strip the protection off
most apps from the App Store. What this simply means is if a single person purchases an app, he or she can put the app out there - for free - for anyone who has a Jailbroken iPhone to grab.
Of course, it was simply a matter of time before someone in the Jailbreak community came up with an app such as Crackulous, and we can just imagine how many new Jailbreak artists there will be because of this new app.
You can pretty much count on the fact that Apple is already addressing this issue with a FairPlay (their DRM that wraps all iTunes App Store apps) fix that will turn up in the next software update. Another cat and mouse game has just been born.

The continuing evolution of
Twitter as a mainstream celebrity interactive communication platform powered by Apple's revolutionary internet device, the iPhone 3G, and awesome client side apps Twitterfon and
Tweetie, or the end of all things geeky-fringe and techno-pure? Or just a cheap excuse for us to link-bait some celebrities (who are not
Stephen Fry) using iPhone's and tweeting on Superbowl Sunday?
Yes!
Does it matter to us if celebrities like
Ashton Kutcher and
Demi Moore use the iPhone? Do we care if they increasingly make their presence felt on Twitter? And does their choice of iPhone Twitter client influence our own preference? And either way, what does it tell us about the iPhone, Twitter, and the celebrities who choose to use them? (You can answer below, or on Twitter from your favorite iPhone client for
extra irony points!)

Adobe and Apple Sitting in a Tree, F L A S H To Be?[/h2]

flash
Just when we thought it was safe to forget about
Flash on the iPhone, after Adobe said they were making it, after Steve Jobs said Flash Lite was too little and Flash was too much, after Adobe was reportedly strong-arming PDF for Flash, after Apple advocated AJAX and WebApps instead, after all the tears, and all the fears, is Flash once again on its way to the iPhone?
Apple Insider says it might be:
>In an interview with Bloomberg at the Davos, Switzerland event, Adobe chief Shantanu Narayen describes development as a complicated two-way process [...] "It's a hard technical challenge, and that's part of the reason Apple and Adobe are collaborating," he says. "The ball is in our court. The onus is on us to deliver."
While many complain about the lack of Flash on the iPhone, it's best to remember that while the iPhone provides the best mobile web experience, it's not a desktop, and real Flash (not old, outdated, limited Flash Lite) is
heavy lifting. Adobe has never properly optimized Flash for OS X, and it remains bloated, buggy, and a battery drain, which are annoying on a laptop but terminal on a mobile device like the iPhone.
