On Monday, ESPN.com learned that the Nets were discussing a Carter deal with the Houston Rockets. On Tuesday afternoon, the Portland Trail Blazers were the latest team to enter the Carter fray.

Currently the Blazers and Rockets are both haggling over what the Nets will get in return for Carter.

Sources say the Blazers and Nets have discussed a deal that would send Carter to Portland for Raef LaFrentz and his expiring contract along with Travis Outlaw and Sergio Rodriguez.
Wizards Won't Trade Jamison,Butler?
Numerous teams have called the Wizards about forwards Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler, but team president Ernie Grunfeld isn't interested ina salary dump.

Washington could stand pat, despite the interest in the former All-Star forwards.

The Cavaliers have reportedly offered Wally Szczerbiak and his $13.8 million expiring contract in separate offers, while the Blazers have interest inButler.

"You can't always be in charge of names that come up, but let me ask you something: If you were one of the other 29 teams in the league, who wouldyou ask for?" interim coach Ed Tapscott said. "You'd ask for Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler. So we can't be in charge of who people ask for.All we can do is say yes or no. My belief is that people are inquiring and as far as I know, the answer is no. We believe in the core of this team, we know whywe are where we are. We just don't have healthy bodies."

he is saying that is why they are offering Bosh for Andris because they know they arent resigning him so they want to get someone with a long term contractin return, hence him saying that is the point FROM TORONTO'S perspective

Uneventful day.

I'm sure tomorrow will be, too. We'll see somebody like Eddie Gill get traded, and that'll be the end of it.
