Nice pickup for the Eagles...although, I think it was foolish for Asante to leave New England, considering the fact that they went 18-0 even though they lostthe Super Bowl. I don't care what anyone says, the Patriots are the best team in the league despite that one game. He had a great thing going there andeven though he wasn't getting the money he wanted he could've tried to meet the Patriots in the middle.

But good for the Eagles

What do you think about that move Chester. Are the 49ers lookin at any other WRs or will Bruce be the 49ers #1

I still have a feeling they aren't done, whether its in FA or the draft. Bringing in a young buck to learn under Bruce couldn't hurt, and I won't mind Darrell Jackson half as much as the #2/3 guy. Bruce can play as a #1 the same way Derrick Mason does... won't be a flashy, long bomb kind of guy, but his routes will be slick and SHOULD help develop one of our young QB's.

I really, really like the deal. I'd rather pay Ike some decent cheddar and get a reliable option as opposed to dropping some loot on a guy like Berrian.

I think its a decent move by the 9ers. Bruce was still killing us last year.

I'm not too impressed by this years crop of free agent WRs. Hopefully the 9ers can finally get it right and draft a talented reciever but Nolan and Co.haven't shown that capability so far.

Damn, Asante broke my heart leaving NE, but I'll still cheer for him, He's that dude.

If teams were willing to pay me what the Eagles did I'd jump ship too. No need to meet anyone in the middle in the NFL. If management can cut you atanytime and show 0 loyalty players need to get the money they believe they deserve.

thats what happens to the superbowl winner.

all the players u figure would stay, end up leaving for "green"er pastures because they have that coveted ring already.

well I knew that... but I thought torbor was the one guy they'd lock up.

Agreed. You already know who I hope the 49ers draft; I think havingBruce can help be a mentor to whoever we draft as a WR hopefully
<----- but either way there aren't any negatives that can really be said about it. great move.

That's why I was even more stunned. Because Kiwanuka is coming off a major injury, and they already lost Kawika Mitchell. Torbor could fill in at DE or LB.That's the one guy I didn't wanna lose. I just hope we don't lose Gibril on top of that.

edit: Kiwanuka in coverage at LB is almost as back as watching Roy Williams in coverage at Safety.

Damn wanted Gibril to be an Eagle to address the safety position but oh well, we got a much bigger prize in Asante tho.

No matter what happens with us now, we are in a great position. We either have a starting secondary comprised of Samuel, Lito, Brown, and Dawkins, or we have asecondary with Samuel, Brown, Dawkins, and Fitzgerald at WR. There is nothing more I want to see than us getting that Fitzgerald trade done. It would feel likeI'm playing Madden. Last time the Eagles ponied up the cash, we ended up in the SB. This time we're winning it.
