Looking at Sinema's resume, I got the feeling she doesn't really want to be a Senator, this is just a temporary stop to a lucrative gig as a lobbyist or in the private sector.

She is refusing to meet with labor leaders and other liberal groups in her state. Yet big business got an open line to her

She apparently spends more time doing appearances with Cornyn than Mark Kelly, on better terms with Mitch than she is Chuck.

Ole girl has to know she is alienating the very people that she needs to work night and day to get her reelected.

It seems once they got her in, she behavior completely changed toward them.

She is on some ruthless career advancement steez, and doesn't give a **** the consequences of that.
I thought I was the only one who remembered her as a moderate left candidate. That’s crazy, but it makes sense.

I swear that is why Republicans are scared of WiFi...... if high speed WiFi got to the center of the country WFH would mean some of those states would turn purple as people leave coastal cities for home ownership elsewhere.

The people I know in AZ that are involved and follow politics tell me that her whole energy has changed since she got into office. It has been even worse than the last election.

One dude is convinced she is either retiring or going independent. She is alienating way too many people on the left in AZ for her to think she can come back around in 2023 and expect folk to hit the streets for her reelection.

Nothing on the scale of forming a new government, but the closest modern-day example I can think of on a small scale is dem Portland Anarchist that are still smashing up the city

Seems like everyone hates them now. Cops, BLM activists, lib, conservative, everybody.

Swear to God I just can't with this man. Most of the people I associate with are not MAGA trash, but 90 percent of them can't be bothered to vote. I'm at the point of dragging people with me in 2022, assuming I ain't breaking any laws.

Looks like Bibi is finally getting the boot in Israel

I hope this is the end of him
Other members of far-right parties are being pressured by their bases to not go through with the deal, especially since the coalition will include an islamist party for the first time in Israel's history.

At this point, the remedy for Manchin and Sinema’s intransigence is massive and coordinated civil disobedience, including and especially strategic shutdowns of key parts of transportation, logistics, communication/IT and the care and education infrastructure.

There has to be so much chaos and lost revenue as a consequence of this designed dysfunction in Congress. Right now, someone like Sinema has every incentive to obstruct but once the capitalist-donor class and the highly engaged professional-managerial class can’t fly on a plane, can’t get their trash taken out, can’t buy stuff on Amazon, and can’t send their kids off to Brown or Vassar because most of hourly maintenance staff is on strike, then Manchin and Sinema go from being seen as Statesman like to being seen as villains among the very people who can influence our politics.

That’s the only way out of this impasse right now. Unfortunately, we don’t have the unionization and civic coordination to pull this off. What we’d need for such agitation to succeed is for it to be coordinated through popular elected officials. Bernie Sanders and AOC come to mind but self described progressives could also help: Katie Porter, Ayanna Presley, Ro Khanna, Jeff Merkley, Ed Marke, Joe Biden (the new FDR) need to cohere around a date and a demand. Let’s say Labor Day 2021 and the For the People Act passed and signed into law. Along with elected officials, we need journalists and other shapers of public opinion, heads of professional organizations (every blue State bar association says they support civil rights), college professors (let us do more than simply tell people how messed up things are), celebrities, NBA players, Late night talk show hosts, everyone who knows how bad things are.

Again, this would just be for voting rights, I wouldn’t demand that liberals necessarily fight for socialist priorities or Vice verse. This is a priority that the whole left, progressive, liberal coalition can get behind and must get behind.

Withholding our labor for concessions is our only play at this juncture, the biggest hurdle to doing so is coordination so therefore, those with some degree of money and power and platform and privilege need to step up and provide cover for the poorer and relatively powerless workers whose labor makes this country run.

Yeah, she is probably bought, only way I can make sense of this, because this is a damn lie. I don't think she is delusional, I think she knows exactly what she is doing. You can't be in your mid-40s, only been in Congress for 2 years, was previously part of a state Democratic minority that didn't have a filibuster to use, yet expect me to believe you have this great affinity for the 60 vote Senate filibuster. Nah, something is up.
