Because this election is looked at in different contexts from each demographic, make America great again means something different depending on your demo.
When it comes down to it a lot trumps base of undereducated white blue collar lower/middle class white people are upset because essentially the blue collar routes to a secure middle class life are dwindling. And trump has given them the establishment to blame for that. The issue As we flourish in the technology age blue collar jobs were ALWAYS going to shrink. Especially for jobs in large and small scale manufacturing. And that's not going to change even though trump keeps promising them it will. No matter how much taxes are cut industries aren't going to willing start adding human error back into their processes where they have eliminated it.
Trump has a ton of rich, educated, whites supporting him as well.
People that want to claim immunity from being classified in the same basket as the overt hardcore Southern racist, but want the system of white supremacy to keep on going strong just the same.
That is why they took offense "basket of deplorables" so much, it is because they know there is so much truth to that comment. To get to the 50% number, you can't just use the bigots screaming at Trump rallies, you have to include many of the rich white suburbanites that talk about the next man's freedom, and the brown person's justice, as inconveniences the country need not worry about right now......... or like ever.
They love to preach that what we need to do is do back to a imaginary time and place, where the white man was respect more, the white family was worshiped,
and a person of color knew their damn place and there was "law and order". That would not only be good for America, some how, in their mind it would be best for minorities as well.
These people love to talking in code. Their favorites are "I like the status quo" and "Our laws need to be respected". No discussion that the status quo is to inflict harm to minority communities, and that the laws they respect the most, are the ones that often times oppress minorities the most.
These are the people who the "lost in the sauce" minorities supporting Trump relate too, not the poor uneducated white bigot.. That way they can act like the racist screaming at the rallies is inconsequential, that is doesn't represent the heart of the campaign. They then claim the liberals just brings up the screaming bigots as a distraction, a talking point, or as a way to trick folk. The "lost in the sauce" minorities then sits back hoping, dreaming, and deluding themselves that they must be right , because look at all these other successful rich white racist are voting for this guy too.
And they must be special to be melanated and supporting a person like Trump as well.
